Elle's gut feeling tell her that this is the person she's been waiting for months but she needed to see
his face. She silently prayed that it's him. Elle thought that everything was in slow motion...until he
saw Kerr. He has tears in his eyes as he gave her a warm hug. Seeing Kerr like this made her break
down as well.
My God Kerr...I thought I'll never see you again. I tried to recall every night that I go to bed the last
moments we have together. Why didn't you ask me about Don?"
"Because I saw how happy you are in the photos... in the car with him. I promised myself that I will
never cause you a heartbreak again."
"Together in the car?"
"Yes. You have tons and tons of flowers on your lap. Of course, now I know, that he proposed that day
to Allison. But that time, I assumed it was you." He brushed the hair that escaped from the red
bandana while caressing her arm that's exposed to the sun.
"Then he called me after a few days, telling me that he's already engaged and that he's getting
married and he wanted me to be his bestman. That was really...,'' Kerr trailing his sentence.
"Was that the reason why you went back to Zimbabwe right away?''
He cupped her face in his hands and admitted the truth.
"I thought I can do it for you but the pain was unbearable. And I remembered you, seeing me with
Carrie in the festival, how hurtful it was for you that time."
Elle tears started falling one by one and so does Kerr.
"But I've read halfway of Don's email before the explosion. If I died that time, I think I'll be forever be
sorry that I did not tell you that you're still the one."
"I thought that I'll never see you again."
"I promised you before that I will wait for the day that you can forgive me... for all the hurt that I
caused you. I never loved anyone else Elle... all these years. I waited for this day to come, when you
can see me without hurt in your eyes.''
"I've forgiven you a long time ago Kerr. I just got scared to admit it to myself. My heart never learned
to unlove you. Instead, I learned how to live without you beside me. I always love you Kerr.''
