In preparation of the "expedition" the three gems opted to pack their own bindles like their "No Home" protagonists, though spinel needed some help understanding what it was and how to make one.
As you packed your own satchel with extra supplies and ingredients, you couldn't help but feel a bit excited yourself as Steven and Amethyst excitedly sang "On the Run" together.
You may have had a sour experience in the past with travel, but maybe it'll be different with companionship... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You all set off, with the three riding on your back. You all walked along Beach City for starters, until three individuals, whom Steven introduced as Jenny, Buck Dewey and Sour Cream, offered to give you all a ride.
Being too big for the vehicle, you opted to run alongside it, following it to the edge of Beach City. After letting them take a few pictures with you and Spinel, you all take off to the countryside, where the adventure truly starts.
Thanks to your past of traveling, you were able to remember a handful of places you've visited and hid when you were still grappling with Earthly life. You couldn't help but smile at the awe the gems express when you showed them every landmark and terrain you used to prowl. Especially spinel, who seemed to gush at every new creature she came across. She seemed particularly fond of rabbits, as she kept trying to catch one.
Speaking of which, most of the wildlife creatures weren't willing to come too close to you, especially if you were to make eye contact with them.
Despite your inital worry, actually found yourself enjoying the experience. You almost forgot the charm outside of the city's limit; the scent of pine and woods, the soft cool grass under your paws and hooves, and the sounds of songbirds and rustling leaves brought you an odd sense of nostalgia, when you'd just roam, observing Earth's beauty during your aimless wanders... But it felt even better to actually share the experiences...
Not to mention a fair share of new experiences yourself; most notably the joys of riding the boxcar of a train. Spinel's reaction was priceless; as she looked around in awe at the fast moving scenery before her, after getting over the speed in the first place.
Maybe this trip is just the thing I needed... you thought with a smile as Steven and Amethyst finish their duet.

By the time evening hit, it was time for lunch. Steven opens his bindle, preparing to eat his packed food, when a raccoon you scared off earlier suddenly jumps in and attacks Steven prompting Spinel to yelp in surprise, which broke you out of your torpor. "Aah! Aah! (Name)! The raccoon is back!"
As it devoured Steven's food, it was suddenly sent flying away from a swat from your paw. "Blasted scavenger."
You looked over and saw with dismay that it had eaten most of Steven's supply.
