The entire town was covered in thick purple mist that had blanketed the land. Shadow looked frantically at Luxe and Zodiac who had collapsed on the floor "Luxe...Luxe what's wrong?" she was on the floor breathing heavily appearing to be in pain "Luxe...Luxe come on" he then felt her head "ah...you're burning up. Is it this mist?"
"Y...yes" muttered Zodiac "it is...poisonous" Shadow then looked afraid
"What!?. Right...I've got to get you both inside" he picked up Luxe off the ground "and...you too?" he put Luxe over his shoulder and dragged Zodiac back to the hotel. He used his shoulder to open the doors "Guys...come quick we've got...oh no" the mist was also in the hotel with Max and Sophia also collapsed on the floor.
Circuit was carrying Julia "Circuit...Circuit hey" called Shadow as she looked at him
"oh no...not them too? At least you're okay" said Circuit sounding a little relieved
"And you're okay. Zodiac says this mist is poison" she looked bewildered "this guy" gesturing to him "Are you the only one?"
"No...there's Truth too. He just finished taking Ariana upstairs"
"Alright. I'll start helping. Sorry Zodiac but ladies first" he gave a weak nod as Shadow carried Luxe upstairs
"it is...how I anticipated" said Zodiac weakly "he is...immune...which means" he simply slumped to the ground.
Shadow with help from Circuit placed Zodiac in a bedroom with a anxious Truth putting the duvet cover over him. The look of worry was on all three of their faces while Shadow spoke "what is going on? Everything was fine and suddenly...a purple light descends upon the sky and...they are like this" Zodiac was breathing heavily with a red face
"It seems only we three are unaffected" said Circuit to which Truth eyebrow twitched "are you both sure your both?"
"yeah I'm fine...I mean I was right in the thick of it" said Shadow
"and I feel fine" said Truth "what is that stuff anyway?"
"it's" said Zodiac weakly "miasma"
"Miasma?" said Shadow
"it's the...term I give to this...purple fog. It happens...once every year at different...places of the world. Once you...breathe it in...you're done for" this frightened them
"what do you mean?" said Truth desperately
"Everyone who...inhales the...miasma...will...perish...in three days time"
The words perish in three days echoed within all their minds when Shadow spoke with fear "so...wait...everyone whose being affected will just up and go!? So...why aren't we affected?"
"The boy...is immune" said Zodiac turning to Truth "you are...a special case"
"A...special case?" said Shadow bewildered
"And...one...other"
"One other? Who?" asked Truth
"listen...carefully"
Zodiac appeared to be forcing himself just to speak "You don't have much...time. Northwest...from here...is a large area of...water...a crystal clear lake. That's where the...divine relic is located. There you will find...a...blue rose. That will...cure the...poison. At the...lake...you will find Undina"
"Undina?" said Truth
"She will...help you find the rose. Now...go...and hurry"
"okay. We'd better pack what we can for the trip" said Shadow
