Zodiac stood with his hand open to Shadow who slowly extended out his arm towards “let us shake…on a new partnership” then Shadow clenched his fist and punched Zodiac cleanly in the face. Zodiac staggered backwards a couple of steps and looked at Shadow with annoyance “what is the meaning of this?” Shadow put down his arm
“that’s my answer. Ideal this, Ideal that I don’t care. What makes you any different from Neo? You think since you’re all powerful it gives you a right to rule this world?”
“it is because of this power I will be able to rule the world” Zodiac retorted “I was entrusted with the dream of making this world a haven”
“I’ve told you once, and I’ll tell you again. We are only human not a divine king. We aren’t the player, neither are we the playing pieces. The Future is uncertain, I know that. For all I know, even if I did beat you…” he looked at his open hand “the future could very well indeed become this bleak place”
Zodiac then looked bewildered “so why do you resist? Why do not accept my choice?”
“because…it isn’t a future we’ve earnt. The future is beyond our control. We can’t guide humanity by holding their hands because don’t you see…they will never become anything more…than children. Children spoon-fed truth and justice…how are they to support the next generation. Sorry Zodiac but…I can’t go along with your ideal” Zodiac demeanour had changed to that of anger and frustration
“Why? Why can’t you see the perfect world I have envisioned? Just how much do I have to demonstrate” he then within a moment hit Shadow in this chest “to you!?” Shadow was sent tumbling along the ground stopping in-front of Sophia.
Shadow coughing and groaning was slowly getting up. Sophia had got to her hands and knees “how are you doing Shadow?”
“ask me later okay” she smiled as Shadow pushed him to his feet. Shadow once more prepared himself much to the disbelief of Zodiac
“How…How do you keep going? You were meant to be the one who rules this world with me” Zodiac put his hands forward forming a sphere of energy, which was a dirty yellow “I did all this for the sake of finding you. If you won’t come willingly, I’ll wipe to an inch of your life…and start anew. Now…begone!” a tall and round beam of dirty yellow burst forth.
Shadow watched as the beam approached him. Shadow tried to will himself to move but his body groaned “dam…it happens now” but then he felt himself shoved aside to the ground. As he turned round he saw Sophia stood in the way of the path. Shadow could only watch as Sophia became engulfed in the attack hiding her completely from view. The beam carved a path, straight past it, going through the many buildings before vanishing in the distance.
Shadow's eye remained transfixed in place as the beam finished to show Sophia still stood but completely limp, as if held up by strings. Shadow could only utter one word “Sophia…” she slowly turned towards him
“Shadow…I’m sorry but…you’re big sister is…stepping out” Shadow then instinctively ran towards her as she fell. Julia was about to run towards her but she felt a fierce grip on her arm from Luxe
“Luxe…no let me go. Sophia is hurt really badly and” Julia was stopped as she saw tears fall down from her face
“Mrs Luxe?” said Kimbra slowly as Shadow was…within reach of Sophia who spoke
“Shadow…promise one thing…don’t…” then her body glowed blue “give up” as Shadow could literally touch her…she disappeared in blue starlight.
