Levi's eyes widened slightly when he heard Eren's voice. Was he hearing things?

"Did you hear that?" He asked Jean.

Jean shook his head and raised an eyebrow. "Nope."

"Watch the twins." Levi said as he ran towards the front door. He slammed it open and saw Eren and Armin running towards the house.

Eren's eyes lit up at the sight of Levi as the boy started to cry. "Levi!"

Levi took a breath of relief and sped down the steps towards Eren. He had to run a bit to get to them, but suddenly heard a few gunshots.

Levi caught up to the two boys running and looked at them, his chest moved up and down quickly as he tried to catch his breath.

"Looks like his aim was off." Levi said, with a small grin.

"Hah..yeah." Eren fell to his knees and put a hand to his shoulder.

"Eren!" Levi leaned down and moved the boy's hand. "He shot you in the shoulder.."

"Agh, is this what you felt when you were shot? It stings." Eren winced and looked up at Levi.

"Back up!" Aki yelled as he pointed the gun to Levi. "I'll shoot and kill you. Don't touch him."

"You shot Eren!" Levi yelled. "Put your gun down." He reached into his pocket for his gun but cursed under his breath when he didn't have it. They had to hand in their weapons to be allowed into the community.

Aki grinned and slowly walked closer. "Hah, you can't fight me. Back up." His finger slowly brushed the trigger. "Or I'll shoot you."

Eren gripped his shoulder in pain as he watched his shirt turn red from the blood.

Levi watched Eren closely and stayed still. He planned his next move.

"Levi. Take care of the twins." Eren said under his breath.

Armin looked down at Eren and slowly started making his way closer to Levi, just trying to escape.

Levi glared at Armin when he saw he was basically giving up Eren.

Eren stood up slowly and backed up. "Don't shoot anymore. I'll go with you." He frowned, a blank look covered his face.

"Eren." Levi reached out to grab him but Eren quickly backed up more. "Just stop. This is causing more problems."

Levi watched with an angry facial expression and shook his head. "No."

Aki rolled his eyes and gripped Eren's arm, causing the teen to yelp out as he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder.

Levi gritted his teeth and watched.

Aki started pulling Eren away as he held the gun, keeping it aimed at Levi.

Mikasa watched from a few feet away. He slowly made her way behind Aki and tripped him. She instantly kicked him in the side of the head, knocking him out cold.

Levi sprinted to Eren and instantly picked him up. "We need to get out of here. Now."

Mikasa grabbed the gun from Aki and ran.

Armin quickly followed.

"Everyone quickly pack anything you can find that's useful. We're out of here!" Levi yelled.

Marco and Jean packed a bag full of clothes while Hanji and Erwin dug through the kitchen to bring every can of food and water bottle they could find.

Levi wrapped a shirt around Eren's bullet wound. "Can you walk?"

Eren nodded. "Just make sure my babies are safe." He mumbled, his parental instinct taking over.

Levi rolled his eyes and nodded. "They're fine. Mikasa and Armin are on twin duty while I lead us out. We need to break into the armory and get our weapons."

Eren nodded and grabbed the bag with the twins' things. "Alright. Let's go." He rested a hand on his shoulder and took a deep breath.

Armin and Mikasa walked into the room holding the twins. They were each wrapped up gently in blankets to the two teens, making sure they were safe.

Hanji and Erwin wore backpacks filled with food while Marco and Jean had bags of clothes and each layered up on clothes.

"Let's go." Levi said as he helped Eren walk.

The group slowly snuck out of the house and looked at the road. Aki was gone.

"Shit. The insane guy is gone." Jean mumbled as they snuck over to the armory.

"I don't care who it is, if it's someone pointing a gun or weapons at us, shoot them instantly got it?" Levi demanded and poked his head into the armory.

He snuck in by himself when he saw one male by the counter with his back turned.

Levi came up from behind and collided his gun with the man's skull, knocking him out. "Coast is clear, grab any good weapons you can find."

Mikasa grabbed her blades and looked down at the twin gently tied to her chest with the sheets. Kari looked up at Mikasa confused before smiling and giggling.

Mikasa smiled lightly and grabbed a gun, tossing it to Armin, who had Ryder on his chest.

Once everyone had their weapons they snuck over to the entrance of the gate.

It was surprisingly easy to open the gate and be ready to walk out.

"Stop!" Aki yelled. The older teen's head was bleeding steadily as he took deep breaths. "I can't let you take Eren away!"

"Watch me." Levi held up his gun to Aki and narrowed his eyes. "I can fight back now."

A nervous expression crossed Aki's face for a second.

Eren smiled. "It feels good. At first I was really nervous and worried them being in this dangerous world would be bad but I think it's under control now. We'll do anything to keep them safe."
