TBOTE 102 ☠

Grisha exchanged messages with the government facility daily.

They had been planning on taking Eren, Jazlyn and the twins for testing.

The government found out about the twins by making the connection themselves. If Eren had children his immunity would be passed genetically and in their blood.

Grisha knew that Levi would have a problem with Eren and the twins being taken for who knows how long, but oh well.

Eren and Levi sat across from each other on the ground. They were holding Ryder and Kari standing up by holding their hands.

They were trying to get them to take their first steps.

"Come on. I know you two can do it." Eren stood up and held Ryder's hands.

Levi did the same with Kari. "They won't budge."

Eren whined. "Come on Ry." He slowly walked and held his hands a bit tighter.

Ryder giggled and bounced in his place. He slowly started moving forward. His legs wobbled a bit.

Eren's eyes widened. "Levi!"

Levi chuckled and watched as Kari pouted and tried mimicking Eren. "Should we try letting go?"

Eren nodded and slowly let go of Ryder's hands. Ryder started wobbling but took a few steps before falling onto his bottom. His diaper cushioned his fall. "Nice job Ry!"

Levi slowly let go of Kari and she started wobbling towards Eren. She fell into Eren's arms as he caught her.

Eren picked up the twins and held them to his chest.

Levi saw Eren was shaking and raised an eyebrow. "Eren? Are you crying?"

Eren looked down at Levi, tears streaming down his face. "L-Levi they're not b-babies anymore." He cried more as he sat on the ground.

Levi sighed and sat next to Eren. "You're so emotional brat. All they did was walk."

"But they can walk now! Our babies!" Eren sniffled.

Ryder and Kari started giggling. "Brat?" They repeated.

Eren laughed as he wiped his tears. "Don't say that guys."

"Brat! Brat! Brat!" Kari said and giggled.

Levi chuckled. "Oops."

"Nice job." Eren rolled his eyes and smiled. "They really are little versions of you Levi. They've already got the brat calling down."

Levi rolled his eyes. "Oh stop." He stood up. "Do you want to go see the results from the twins blood test?"

Eren nodded and stood up. "Sure." He picked both babies up and kissed their cheeks.

"Brat." Kari smiled and clung to Ryder.

They left the room and walked to Grisha's lab.

Grisha was in the middle of testing the blood out on one of the community members. He forcefully made them get bit by an infected and was currently trying to use the blood to heal the person.

Eren walked in and his eyes widened. "Dad?"

Grisha looked up quickly and stopped. "I'm trying to heal this bite." He mumbled.

Eren handed Levi the twins and walked over. "I don't think it's working."

"It is."

"It's not." Eren said and crossed his arms. He rested a hand on the person's forehead. "They have a fever."

"They're alive." Grisha argued.

A second later the person's eyes open. They had a blank expression on their face.

Grisha leaned down. "Are you alright?"

The person jumped up, growling loudly. He reached out to Grisha in an attempt to bite him.

Eren quickly grabbed the knife on the table of tools and stabbed the man through the head. "I told you he wasn't alive. Did you use my blood?"

Grisha sighed and nodded. "Yes. Yours is 95% effective. I have yet to try the twins' blood mixed with yours, which is 99% effective."

"So that means the twins really are immune then?" Eren smiled.

Grisha nodded. "Yes, so they're safe."

"Good." Eren sighed in relief. He had worried that they weren't immune.

"But there's something I need to talk about and I know keeping quiet won't be good. You'll be angry with me." Grisha mumbled.

"What is it?" Eren raised an eyebrow.

Levi slowly walked closer and listened in.

"I sent your blood to a government facility along with Jazlyn's, but you knew that. The facility wants to take you, Jazlyn, and the twins for a while to do some more testing to try and make your blood 100% effective."

Eren shook his head. "I can't just leave here."

"It wouldn't be for long. You would be helping out humanity Eren. We need this antidote. The number of infected is going up by the hundreds daily."

"But I don't want to leave Levi behind." Eren pouted.

"Dammit Eren, you need to start making grown up decisions. It's either go and possibly help the world find a great cure, or stay here with Levi and have the world possibly end. Do you really want that chance?" Grisha said loudly to Eren. "It's really all up to you, Jazlyn and the twins."

Eren stayed silent and looked down. "Last time I was away from Levi..you know what happened."

Levi sighed. "Damn Eren that was once."

Eren glared. "Not once. Multiple times."

"We'll keep an eye on Levi alright?" Grisha tried persuading Eren more. "You'll be safe, you'll even have your kids and Jazlyn there. You'll be back before you know it."

"I'll think about it." Eren walked out.

Levi followed right behind Eren. "So what will you do?"
