chapter 34!

“Nervous?” Cody asked, as if he was reading my ongoing mind.

“Nervous? No. A bit pressured, yeah.” I said.

“Why?” He asked.

“What if I say the wrong thing and suddenly your whole family will hate me? I feel like I’m going to have to fake myself through these next couple of weeks.” I said.

“Don’t. Just be yourself. They’ll love you, I promise.” He said.

“Yeah, but what if they don’t?” I asked.

“Well, I love you, and they’re my family and half of them have the same personality as I do, so they’re obviously going to love you whether you think so or not.” Cody said.

“I dunno. Thanks for the positive look on this, but I just don’t know.” I said.

“Just see how things play out before you make assumptions. After they all meet you, and get to know you, then we’ll be sure on their thoughts of you. Don’t let this bug you.” He said, kissing my cheek.

I smiled.

I took my nose stud out, and slipped it into my pocket.

Maybe they don’t like piercings.

“Did you just-“ Cody started, but I didn’t let him finish.

“Yes.” I said.

“Why?” He whined.

“What if they don’t like piercings?” I asked, shrugging.

Cody shook his head.

“You think too much.” He said, smiling.

I rolled my eyes and punched him playfully.

He grabbed my hand and looked at it.

“Where’s your promise ring?” He asked.

I took it out of my pocket, and put it on my ring finger.

He smiled.

“Why’d you take it off in the first place?” He asked.

“I wouldn’t wanna lose it on the plane.” I said.

His smile grew bigger.

 

We arrived at his cousin’s place about half hour later. All my nerves were building up inside of me and I was way more nervous now than I was half-hour ago.

Cody held my hand as we walked up to the front door.

I literally felt like I was going to have a panic attack any second.

He opened the door with his other hand, and dragged me inside the house with him.

“SURPRISE!” Everyone yelled.

In front of my eyes were Ruby, Sophie, Giorgia, Jake, and a bunch of people I’ve never met in my entire life.

Cody let go of my hand and ran to everyone to give them all hugs.
