We arrived at the airport about 15 minutes later.

I can’t believe I won’t see Alli and Cody for 4 months. This just sucks…

I turned up the volume on my iPod blocking out anything that wasn’t my music.

My mom tapped my shoulder telling me it was time to board the plane.

We boarded the plane and took our seats. I had the window seat.

My mom was looking at me. It looked like she was talking. I just turned the other way from her.

I’m really mad at her right now…

I’m just mad at everyone at the moment. This is so unfair.

Cody’s POV

“She what?!” I shouted at Alli.

“She’s gone, Cody.” Alli shouted back.

“Where?!” I asked.

“I don’t know! That’s what I’m trying to tell you!” Alli said.

“How do you know?” I asked.

“She left a note, and I called her. She said she’d explain in four months.” Alli said, sitting down on her bed sighing.

“WHAT?”

Where is she? Why did she go? What happened? I’m SO confused.

“FOUR MONTHS.” Alli said.

I stomped out of Alli’s room and into mine. I grabbed my phone and dialled Maggie’s number.

One ring.

Two rings.

Three rings.

Four rings.

Voicemail.

What the hell?

It’s not like her to ignore my calls!

“I told you she’s gone.” Alli said, now standing in my doorway.

I felt like ripping my hair out.

“Do you have any idea where she might be?” I asked.

Alli shook her head.

From a distance, I could see Alli’s eyes tearing up.

“It just sucks because my best friend is going to miss my birthday.” She sobbed.

I hate seeing my sister cry…

I walked up to her and wrapped my arms around her.

“It’s going to be okay. It’s not like she’s out of the country, right?” I asked.

“But what if she is?” Alli asked, backing away from me.

I didn’t answer her.

Suddenly her eyes got wide.

“Oh my gosh!” She said.

“What?”

“I just remembered her mom texted her yesterday saying she needed to be home at 6 or else she was going to be grounded!” Alli said, running out of my room and down the stairs.

“Alli! Where are you going?” I shouted, following her.

I watched her run out of the front door.
