The boys had dinner that Aphmau made earlier, I just reheated it after I carried her to her room. I didn't dare to wake up Aphmau, she looked too peaceful.

I put the three empty plates in the sink, and took one plate of food to Aphmau's room, putting it on the desk beside her bed. She was in the foetus position, her hands under her chin and her knees bent. I could still feel the warm, tingling sensation at my neck, and everywhere else she touched. My hand, shoulder, and I couldn't get her the image of her amazing smile out of my head.

I suddenly felt the ever-so-familiar urge, stronger than ever.

I bent down and kissed her cheek and the urge died down, yet in hope that she wouldn't realise.

No such luck.

She stirred, her first move was moving her hand in search of mine. She at last grabs my wrist, and smiles. She opens her beautiful hazel eyes, and she looks a lot more refreshed than previously.

"Good morning, princess." I say sarcastically, and she laughs softly. She notices the food on her desk and her eyes widen, and a gasp escapes her lips.

"You knew I made dinner? And you reheated it and fed the boys?" She looked at me in shock. I nodded and she sat up, her hand moving from my wrist to both arms wrapped around my stomach.

"You didn't have to." She mumbled into my shirt, and I smiled, looking down at her. She looked up at me and she grinned, her hands still around my stomach.

"Yes I do, I live here now. It's called responsibility." I say, and she laughs, dropping her arms down.

"Zoey will be back in two days." Aphmau says, and I nod. Aphmau looks over at the food and takes it, and I sit down on the bed beside her.

"Have you showered?" She asks, and I nod again, pointing to my slightly damp blonde hair. She ruffles it using one hand, the other holding the plate. I huff and roll my eyes, and she giggles adorably. She starts eating, and I love that she doesn't care what other people think about her when she eats.

"I make good food." She laughs, and I jab her playfully using my elbow in her arm. She giggles, and continues. Comfortable silence fills the room, and I just watch her eat. I suddenly hear the light pitter-patter of raindrops tap on the window, probably just a light drizzle.

"It's eight. Can you do one more thing for me please Garroth? I'm sorry." She asked, and I nodded.

I'd do anything for you.

"Put the boys to bed please, thank you." She said, twirling the spaghetti around her fork and putting it in her mouth.

"Well, I'm coming back after I do." I say, and she laughs.

"I have no problem with that." I say, getting up.

"You boys sleep well okay? Goodnight." I say, turning off the light.

"Goodnight Dad- Uh, I mean Garroth." Malachi says, and I smile.

"I'm sorry, I just- I call Aph 'Mom' sometimes on accident. It's just that you guys treat us like your kids sometimes and it just slips and-" Malachi rambles and I chuckle.

"Malachi, it's okay. Levin's already asleep, get some rest. Goodnight." I say, and he nods.

"W-Wait! I-Uh, do you like Aphmau?" He asks, and I walk over to his bedside.

"I love her, Malachi." I smile, and his green eyes glisten.

"Why don't you tell her?" He asks, and I brush my sandy blonde hair out of my face.

"When you grow up Malachi, you'll understand that it's difficult. Okay? Hopefully, one day she'll know. Goodnight." I smile, and pat his head. He smiles, and his eyes shut.

I walk out the room and close the door. Smiling at the boys in their beds through the small window in the door, I turned around to see Aphmau leaning against her doorframe.

"For Mr Grumpy, you're not too bad with kids." She laughs and I roll my eyes.

"This is a weird question to ask, but do you want to sleep in my room tonight? I mean like, it's really lonely and-" Before she can finish her sentence, I tackle her and hug her.

"AHH! Garroth!" She laughs, hugging me back.

"Yes please." I mumble into her shirt, and her chirpy laughter fills the room. I get off her and close the door, and the light is already on. I was wearing a plain black T-Shirt and sweatpants.

"I see you're not one of those typical guys who wear their boxers to sleep." She laughs, and I laugh.

"That's gross, ew. No." I say, and she laughs, getting up from the floor.

"You're unique, I like it." She walks in front of me and pokes my nose, and I roll my eyes yet again. She walks over to her bed and sits down, and I lean against the wall opposite her.

"So you're sleeping here?" She asks, and I smile.

"That's a yes, I'm assuming." She laughs.

"Weirder question, can you sleep beside me? I-I-I know it's w-weird and you don't h-have to if you're uncomfortable but-" She asks, and I cut her short when I walk forward and sit beside her.

"You are a good body language answerer." She laughs, and I laugh as well.

She yawns, falling back onto the bed.

"I'm kinda tired, do you wanna sleep?" She asks, and I shrug.

"Whatever you want to do." I say nonchalantly, and she smiles.

"Okay, then let's sleep." She smiled, and I got off the bed and walked over to the other side. She lay down properly on the bed with the blanket covering her as I went to turn off the light, and after that I did the same beside her.

"This is strange yet comforting." I said, and she laughed.

"Indeed." She giggled, and I smile.

"Goodnight Garroth, sweet dreams." She turns away from me, pulling a bit of the blanket.

"Goodnight Aphmau." I turn slightly, adjusting to the new surroundings.

"I-" I stop mid-sentence from what I'm about to say, relief flooding through me that I did.

"Hm?" Aphmau turned, and I shook my head.

"Nothing. Goodnight." I say, and she smiles before turning back.

"Goodnight." She says, and soon she drifts off.

I love you, but I can't tell you.

It's too difficult; it's so difficult.
