Why am I so nervous?
Why am I pacing back and forth in my room?
Why am I constantly fixing my hair in the bathroom mirror?
Why did I ask Aphmau on a date?
And most importantly:
Why did I tell Laurance about my plans?
I groan, glancing over at the clock. I adjusted my blue flannel and straightened my white tee, as beads of nervous sweat trickled down my forehead.
I look in the mirror and feel the temptation of fixing my hair again, but I know I'll end up changing it so I don't touch my hair.
I hear my phone vibrate on my bed and I walk out my bathroom, the sound of my sneakers squeaking against the wet marble floor.
I unplug my fully-charged phone from the charger and look at the notification to see who texted me.
Laurance: Good luck on the date tonight G, go get her.
Dante: Good luck tonight Garroth.
I bite my lip and text back in the group chat Laurance made awhile back.
Garroth: Thanks, almost time.
I get an almost immediate reply.
Dante: Where are you taking her again?
Garroth: Movies.
Laurance: DON'T STUTTER
Garroth: Easier said than done Laurance; easier said than done.
Laurance: Fair enough.
I glance away from my phone and at the clock and it's two minutes to seven.
Garroth: Okay, got to go.
Laurance: Tell us about it tomorrow or later! Good luck!
Dante: Good luck.
I switch off my phone and slide my phone into my pocket, scratching at the denim material out my jeans out of nervousness before heading out my room and to the living room upstairs.
I doubled checked that I had my phone and wallet with me, and I nodded to myself and let out a breath I never knew I was holding.
Then she came down the stairs, and I felt my knees go weak.
She looked beautiful.
She had her hair curled at the ends and she had red lipstick on, as well as other makeup. She was wearing a lilac purple lace dress that reached down to about three quarters of her thighs, and golden bracelets on her left wrist. (See top for dress and bracelets) She also was wearing shiny golden flats, her entire outfit complimenting her hazel eyes and black hair very nicely.
"W-Wow..." I mutter and she must have heard me because she blushed.
"You ready to go?" I ask, and she nodded.
"T-The cinema is at The Drop Mall, so it's a short walk. I-I mean we c-can get there another way i-if you want b-but I just thought-"
"Garroth, it's fine. I walk everywhere anyway and it's nice weather outside, so it'll be fun." She grinned, walking towards me and lacing my fingers with hers.
My heart raced, my nerves all awake and alive at the same time. I bit my lip as she pulled me outside, the sound of horning cars and city traffic filling the night air.
"Come on, let's go."

"Which movie do you want to watch?" Aphmau excitedly jumped up and down, and I smiled at her; shrugging.
I still was extremely nervous.
"Let's watch that one!" She pointed at the poster with four guys on it, a chicken, and a goat.
"O-O-Okay." I stutter, looking down at our linked hands.
I've held hands with this girl before.
I've hugged this girl before.
I've kissed this girl before.
So why am I shaking with nerves?
I get pulled out of my thoughts as she pulls me to the front of the queue, where a strange man was standing.
He had the same uniform as every other cinema clerk, but he also had a grey hoodie with derpy eyes on the top and a horn.
"Uh..." I mumble, and Aphmau thinks nothing of the strange sight.
"Hi! We'd like to buy tickets for the movie 'Roommates'. Speaking of which, you kinda look like the guy with the chicken." Aphmau points out, looking at me. I shrug, not knowing how to respond.
"Here." The clerk has a flat and unamused voice, and it feels like he's glaring at me as I place the money on the counter. He snatches it away and Aphmau grabs my wrist and pulls me away.
Strange.
I shake off the thought and follow Aphmau to the food stand, and I watch as she buys almost everything; while all I have is popcorn and a drink.
"Ready?" I ask, and she turns around with only two drinks and two popcorns.
"I thought you were practically buying everything off that menu." I say, and she frowns.
"They ran out of a lot of stuff." She frowned and I smiled. I walked over to her and hold her hand, my other hand occupied with the plastic bag that held my food.
Aphmau's mood instantly lightened, and her cheery grin was back.
But the minute she was happy again, my nerves started returning.
She walked over to the cinema hall we were supposed to be in and found our seats, then sat down.
"Garroth? Thank you for the movie." Aphmau grinned under the darkness of the cinema, with only the advertisment-playing screen lighting up her beautiful face.
"N-N-No p-problem." I stammer, and she smiles sweetly before putting her head on my shoulder, and holding my hand that lay on the armrest between us.
As the movie began rolling, Aphmau still stayed in the same position. She suddenly mumbled something.
"Hm?" I say, and she blushes.
"I love you, Garroth." She says in a bare whisper, and I know I have to say it back.
"I-I l-l-l-love you too A-Aphmau." I whisper back, and she nuzzles her head further in my neck seeking warmth - as a response.
I wrap one arm around her and it lands on her other shoulder, and we stay like that for the rest of the movie.
