"Garr Garr! You back!" Levin ran up to me and hugged my leg, and I laughed, my ribs hurting slightly. I used one hand and gripped onto the doorframe for support, the other around Aphmau's waist.
"Yes, I'm back Levin." I smile, and he hugs my leg tighter.
"Garroth! You're back!" Malachi jumps up and down, and Levin lets go of my leg. I walk towards them and bend down, hugging them both.
"I missed you both." I smiled, and they giggled.
"You three are adorable." Aphmau says in the background, and I pull away from the hug and stand up.
"Speak for yourself." I smile, and her cheeks flush pink.
I briskly wrap one arm around her waist and kiss her forehead, and I can hear Levin giggling uncontrollably in the background.
"Shh, they're having a moment." Malachi shushed Levin, and I smiled, turning around to face the children.
I look at Aphmau and suddenly feel the item in my pocket gain weight, the weight of pressure. I run upstairs to our bedroom and close the door, taking the note out from my pocket and carefully unfolding it. My eyes scanned over the words, I had edited it quite a bit.
To Aphmau:
There was once a boy.
A boy with boring blue eyes and dusty sandy-blonde hair, with no hope that he would ever be happy.
The boy was troubled, mistreated, sad and miserable.
He didn't believe in love.
Then came along a beautiful girl.
A girl with the most stunning hazel eyed, the sweetest smile, and does the smallest things to make the boy's heart flutter.
She was beautiful, and kind and compassionate.
This girl was simply remarkable, unlike any other girl he'd encountered before.
One who lit up his world.
One who changed the way he looked at things.
One who made him believe in love, because he fell in love with her.
He had never seen anyone as lovely as this girl, who had a unique name and a bubbly personality.
Now, this boy wanted to ask her to a dance.
A special dance; a school dance.
He was positive the girl would agree, though little voices and insecurites prevented him from doing so.
Even their English teacher had been urging him to ask her in not-so-subtle hints.
So the boy decided to write a note.
A note instead of words.
To write a note - despite his aching wounds and pain - to ask her to this dance.
Asking her to this dance, despite his insecurites of being in the public, let alone dancing in front of his best friends, but mostly sworn enemies.
One wrong move, and this boy knew it would cause calmity.
But a little voice in his head; a small whisper from his heart; told him to ask.
So, this is that boy.
And right now, he's asking that girl.
That girl named Aphmau.
The one who made him believe.
Go to Prom with me?
I love you.
-Garroth.
I smile at the note despite its cheesiness, and fold it back up right before Aphmau came into the room.
"Hey Garroth!" Aphmau grinned, obviously happy to see me back in the house. I smiled and she walked over to the bed, sitting down on it.
I go onto the other side and sit beside her, and she grabs my hand and plays with my fingers.
"Your fingers are so long and bony." She giggles, and I smile, unable to reply.
Unable to reply mostly out of nerves, but also because I had no idea how to reply to that.
She puts down my hand and gets off the bed, and walks over to the window. She places her hands on the windowsill, looking out at Phoenix Drop.
I get off the bed as well and sneak up behind her, gingerly wrapping my arms around her waist and resting my head on her shoulder.
She giggles and continues looking out the window, and I let one arm let go of her waist. I shove it into my pocket and find the paper, and I smile to myself. I wrap that arm back around her waist and slip the paper into her pocket.
"Hm?" She questioned, and I let go of her.
"I'm going downstairs." I say and open the door, walking down the stairs and seeing the boys playing with their toys on the floor.
"Having fun?" I smile at them, and they both nod.
"Garr Garr play play?" Levin clapped, and I laughed. I sat down beside them, still towering over them because of mt height.
After five minutes, I heard rapid footsteps down the stairs and I stood up, and faced the stairs, only to be tackled onto the ground.
"Yes yes yes yes!" Aphmau hugged me tightly and kissed my forehead, and I laughed.
"Relax, it's not like I proposed to you or anything." I laugh, and she grins.
Though I'm sure I will one day.
"I can see Mr Burt's reaction now." I say, and Aphmau laughs.
"Are you excited?" I ask her, and she nods furiously.
"Especially since I get to go with you. I was waiting for you to ask!" She says like it's the most obvious thing in the world, which I suppose it kinda is.
"I love you." I kiss her, and she smiles against the kiss.
"I love you too." She gets off me, and stands up. I stand up, and she hugs me tightly.
The boy did ask the girl,
and the girl said yes.
The boy was very,
very,
happy.
