At first, Steven takes fusion super seriously. Connie and Steven only fuse for dangerous problems. The thing is that, they almost get into danger. So they start to fuse whenever they're lonely. The problem with that is that they always are playing and hanging out with each other.
So they start to fuse whenever it would be useful. Connie is stuck on lion? Fuse into Stevonnie. Can't get to the top of a hill? Fuse.
It starts to get out of hand. Steven's trying a can in the kitchen, but instead of just using the stool right next he fuses with Connie.
"Really?" Pearl asked. Stevonnie is standing in the kitchen holding a can of cream corn.
