There is a boy at my school, who hides in the shadows but glows the most to me. His blue eyes distract me from the scars on his wrist, and bruises on his neck. His blonde hair is hidden by a dark black hood as he strolls around the halls aimlessly.
Sometimes I follow him around when I'm seeking adventure. But when I try, he turns a corner and next thing you know, he's gone. I see him in a few of my classes, but he never speaks, and no one ever speaks to him. He sits at the back of the class, waiting for life to come in a better direction.
I never knew why this mysterious boy never talked. Until September 13th. The blonde boys birthday.
"In memorial of Niall James Horan," Our principal spoke. "We will pray for the boy, in honor of his hard work, and dedication at this school." I looked around, searching for the blonde beauty, but he was no where in sight.
But suddenly, right next to me in the empty chair, were the blue eyes I destined to see. But down on his wrist, was a bracelet. I looked down, hoping he wouldn't catch me staring.
'Niall Horan' the bracelet read. My eyes widened in shock as I looked straight at the boys face. His eyes brightened as finally his face became clear. His lips curved up giving me the smallest grin before he slowly faded away. My mind came a blur as I realised I was alone, not physically, but mentally.
On September 13th, 2010, the boys birthday, Niall Horan had hung himself with a note saying 'You Win'. Effective on all his fellow classmates and teachers, every September 13th was known as 'Niall's Day' where we all reconised Niall for the pain he went through, at school, and at home.
Not long after knowing all of Niall's past pain, and tortue otherwise known as his highschool life, I myself fell into deep depression, realising no one in this hell hole was anything like me. The girl who hid in the shadows, wearing a dark black hoodie, waiting for September 13th.
The day I hung myself with a note laying on the ground that read, 'I fell in love with a ghost'.
