Looking Back on 2015

So I saw this on Tumblr and decided to do it!

1: What did you do in 2015 that you'd never done before?
I went to Comic-Con for the first time and got to fangirl with people who love the same fandoms as me! I found out that I wasn't the only crazy, disturbed weirdo in the world. ;)

2: Did you keep to your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next 2016?
Yes, I did keep to 2015's resolutions! I brought my friend to church (and she loved it), I became more confident in my school and I learned a lot more about God. :) I've made some more for 2016 too.

3: Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope. :)

4: Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully, no! My grandpa is very sick though (his cancer has come back) and had to spend New Year's Eve in hospital. :(

5: What places did you visit?
Middle-earth, Lothal, Garel, Jakku, Asgard, Port Royal, Gotham and much, much more. ;)

6: What would you like to have in 2016 that you lacked in 2015?
Confidence is my appearance and acceptance of my flaws.

7: What dates from 2015 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
• The days my grandparents visited us in Australia - they live in South Africa and we don't see them a lot, so it was really great to have them here.
• The days I watched The Force Awakens, Mockingjay Part 2 and Age of Ultron - I died.
• Christmas Eve - I danced at both my church's night services.
• The beginning of Semester 2 - the day I wiped out all the crappy people who made me feel awful from my life. #Hallelujah
• Easter - the day I really started to stand up for myself and believe in myself.
• Two weeks ago - when my grandparents dogs were attacked by pit-bulls (but luckily survived).

8: What was your biggest achievement of the year?
My biggest achievement was getting myself to where and who I am now: I'm healthy, confident and thrive in stressful situations. I'm not that shy anymore and I'm not afraid to smile. :)

9: What was your biggest failure?
Getting burnt to a crisp right before New Year's Eve (thanks, Australian sun). -_-

10: Did you suffer illness or injury?
A few weeks before my end-of-year performance I injured my ankle. I'm still so frustrated about it because I could've danced better if it hadn't happened. :(

11: What was the best thing you bought?
Fandom memorabilia. ;)

12: Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My sister! She, a ten year old (recently turned 11), went through so much this year. Aside from bullies and school drama, she got osteomyelitis. She had inflamed bone marrow and scabs on her feet (severely limiting her ability to participate in her gymnastics competitions which she loves). Yet, despite all this, she pushed through and now she's happy and healthy again. :)

13: Whose behaviour made you appalled?
I'm not going to name names. Those bullies know who they are.

14: Where did most of your money go?
My cosplays and my friends gifts (WHY ARE THERE SO MANY BIRTHDAYS?!).

15: What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Jesus and FANDOOOOOOOMS! :P

16: What song will always remind you of 2015?
Uptown Funk. XD

17: Compared to this time last year, are you:
(a) happier or sadder?
(b) thinner or fatter?
(c) richer or poorer?
I'm definitely happier, the same size as last year and probably poorer because I had to buy all my friends' Christmas presents. -_-

18: What do you wish you'd done more of?
I wished I'd done more research on things that interest me.

19: What do you wish you'd done less of?
Worrying about what other thought of me.

20: How did you spend Christmas?
It was a quiet day with my family. :)

21: Did you fall in love in 2015?
Yup ... with Star Wars. <3

22: What was your favourite TV program?
STAR WARS REBEEEEEEEEELS!

23: Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I think it's more like I actually didn't know I hated them until they left and I found myself relieved.

24: What was the best book you read?
Hunger Games and The Silmarillion (and then obviously so many Wattpad books). :)

25: What was your greatest musical discovery?
That I suck at playing instruments. XD

26: What did you want and get?
Final Cut Pro (movie editing software).

27: What did you want and not get?
I WANTED KANAN AND HERA TO MAKE THEIR RELATIONSHIP OFFICIAL.
THEY DIDN'T.

28: What was your favourite film of this year?
DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE.

29: What is one thing that made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Ahem ... Kanera... #SpaceParentsForLife

30: How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2015?
"Embracing the fandoms a little too hard".

31: What kept you sane?
Jesus. :)

32: Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Tom Hiddleston. Heh, heh... ;)

33: What political issue stirred you the most?
The fact that JAR JAR BINKS WAS MADE A SENATOR. WHO IS THE IDIOT THAT DESIGNED THIS POLITICAL SYSTEM?
Nah, I'm just kidding. I'm not really into politics. :)

34: Who did you miss?
For some reason, my family in Africa was always on my mind this year. :(

35: Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2015.
"It take ten times longer to put yourself back together as it does to fall apart."
