Caleb arranged to help Aidan track down his dangerous ex Beta. That leaves me in charge of the pack while Caleb's gone. I sense two presences on my territory, how did they get past my guards. I mind link my head guard Jarrod. 'Jarrod why are there two wolves on my pack!' I ask as I leave my office and head into the woods. I stop the two intruders,
"who are you and why are you on my territory?" I ask the man and women. "I could ask you the same question Miss Rivers" the man says.
"Cora, sweetheart, how are you" the women says hugging me. I can't believe I didn't recognize them before, they're Caleb's parents. Alpha John and Luna Josey. I hug Josey back,
"Alpha John, Luna Josey I am so sorry, I didn't recognize you" I apologize.
"Its okay sweetie its been what 5 years?" Josey says,
"and please just call me Josey"
I've known Josey and John as long as Caleb and Aidan have known each other, which means I've known them all my life, and I still didn't recognize them, it's amazing how much time and life can change a persons appearance. John comes forward and hugs me, "don't be a stranger, I've known you since you were in diapers" he chuckles, then asks,
"Where's Caleb?"
"He's out helping Aidan find his rogue Beta, I'll mind link him and tell him you're here"
'Hey, your parents are here' I mind link Caleb. Oh God, please ignore my mum. I'll be about half an hour,  I didn't even know they were coming' Caleb replies.'That makes two of us'
"Caleb will be here shortly" I share with the two, "come with me" I lead them into Caleb's srudy. "How have you been Cora?" Josey asks sitting down with her mate on the couch Caleb has in his study.
"I've been good" I reply.
"So, are you the Beta or Third now?" John asks me.
"No" I laugh to myself,
"I'm the Luna" I answer sitting in the large office chair.
"Aw, your his mate" Josey says coming forward and hugging me, she pulls the collar of my shirt down and gasps,
"and he even mated you" she hugs me again even tighter, I blush. 'Caleb, where are you, things are getting private, they know we're mates now an-' I mind link. 'I'm near the territory now' I feel Caleb's presence on the territory, thank God Josey was just starting to ask about when he first mated me.

Caleb's P.O.V

I enter my office, the atmosphere awkward, Cora looks at me with pleading eyes that say, 'help me'.
"Hey beautiful" I say hugging her.
"Hey Caleb" she replies, I kiss her cheek. My mother claps her hands excitedly.
"You too are adorable" she says.
"What are you guys doing back?" I ask. "We came to visit our little boy" mum says pinching my cheek.
"Mum" I complain.
"Oh sorry honey, am I embarrassing you in front of your mate?" She asks sarcastically. I laugh. Caleb looks at me unimpressed.
"Aw, cheer up mummy's boy" Cora teases. I kiss her, she seems hesitant. "Dad, thought I dragged the pack down more didn't he?" I question.
"Now Caleb-" my mother begins.
"The truth. Please" I stare her down, "Caleb you've got to understand-"
"I'm done with this conversation" I snap",
"Let me show you two, to the guest room" I say walking hand in hand with Cora to the guest Alpha room, angrily. "What happened to our room?" Dad questions.
"I took it" I answer bluntly.
"What about the joined room to it?"
"Cora was using it but now its vacant, but you can't stay in there"
"Why not?"
"Because its being refurbished" We stop out the front of a guest room, the furthest away from Cora and mines, my father and I stare each other down, "dinners at six, breakfast at 10, lunch is at 1. See you then" I leave hastily pulling Cora with me to my office. I shut the door and sit in my chair. "What was that all about?" Cora asks coming around to my side and standing in front of me, grabbing my hand.
"My dad and I aren't the closest" I reply.
"And why's that?"
"Because he didn't want me to be Alpha"
"Why?" Cora seems angry, I'm not sure if it's my anger she's feeling contributing to hers or not but I can feel some anger towards him through our mate bond.
"Because he said I was immature and disrespectful and a coward and because of that I couldn't run a pack"
"He said those things. Why?" Her voice sounding angrier and angrier.
"Because I was a carless teenager and I failed Alpha school"
"You failed Alpha school! How is that even possible?"
"I didn't pay attention and thought that I knew everything that they were teaching, so I skipped most classes, partied every night, got wasted and layed every night. I drunk and smoked and slept around and by doing that I brought disgrace as my father called it to the Rhyes family name. We went from second strongest pack to 20th because pack members left not wanting their sons to grow up and end up like me and of course this made my dad angry"
"How did you become Alpha?"
"My mum begged my dad, but I had to co-lead for a while as well as go back to Alpha school. It was a long process but I'm here now with you at my side, ready to help lead our pack back to its number two spot" I hug her.
"You slept around did you?" She questions still hugging me, then pulling away and crossing her arms, giving me a sassy look. Is that the only thing she took out of that? I rub the back of my neck
"we all have our flaws" I reply. "Mmhmm"
"And mine is every time things go bad I turn to alcohol for support. Like when I first lost you" I try to redeem myself. I pull her close to me by the waist and kiss her. I lay her small frame on the couch in my office, my lips not leaving hers. Our mouths move in sync, my hands fitting perfectly on her waist like they were ment to be there. The door to my office opens. Our heads snap towards the intruder, I growl, then roll my eyes,
"mum knock first. Please" I whine.
"Oh, sorry honey, you two have fun, I'll come back later" she says all too nonchalantly.
"No, what is it?" I ask climbing off my mate. Cora blushes. "I was just going to ask Cora if she wanted to go get some coffee and catch up. It has been five years after all" my mother smiles warmly.
"Now's fine" Cora replies.
"Are you sure, you look a little, busy" My awkward mother replies.
"Yes, I'm sure, nows fine"
"Just like your mother" mum murmurs.
"What do you mean?" Cora asks a little touchy about the subject.
"You've grown up to be a beautiful, selfless woman like your mother. I can tell you would probably rather stay here with my son then go out for coffee with me but yet you insist on going" Cora smiles a small smile,
"I'll see you later Caleb" Cora says giving me one last peck on the cheek. I smile to myself, at least my mum likes my mate.
