We just arrived at my parents' house. I get out of the car with Thomas and Ansel at my side. We walk up the concrete steps and ring the doorbell. My parents open the door and we all say hi to each other. I give both of my parents hugs and so does Thomas. Next we sit on the couch and my parents suddenly look serious. Uh oh. That can't be good.
"Do you know why we wanted you to come here?" My mom asked. I shake my head no.
"We want to give you our blessing for the marriage." They say in unison.
"Wait, are you serious?!" I ask in excitement. They nod their heads and I squeal. I immediately jump off the couch and into their arms. I hug them and jump a lot.
"Thank you thank you thank you thank you!" I say. Thomas hugs them and we are all happy. Ansel stands in a corner, left out. He then walks over to me.
"Congratulations." He says. I pull him into a tight hug and say thank you.

When it's time to leave, we all say our goodbyes. The three of us walk back to my car and buckle our seat belts. Thomas turns the radio on and one of my favorite songs comes on. It's called hide away by Daya. I start singing.

Lyrics:

Boys seem to like the girls who laugh at anything
The ones who get undressed before the second date
Girls seem to like the boys who don't appreciate
All the money and the time that it takes

To be fly as a mother
Got my both eyes out for Mr. Right
Guessing I just don't know where to find 'em
But I hope they all come out tonight

Where do the good boys go to hide away, hide away?
I'm a good good girl who needs a little company
Looking high and low, someone let me know
Where do the good boys go to hide away, hide away?

Boys seem to like the girls who like to kiss and tell
Talking them up about the things they do so well
But I'd rather find a boy who is down for the chase
Putting in the time that it takes

To be fly as a mother
To supply all of my heart's demands
Suit and tie, cause undercover
He's gonna save my life like Superman

Where do the good boys go to hide away, hide away?
I'm a good good girl who needs a little company
Looking high and low, someone let me know
Where do the good boys go to hide away, hide away?

Tell me where the good boys go
Tell me where the good boys go
Tell me where the good boys go
Won't somebody tell me, tell me
Tell me where the good boys go
Tell me where the good boys go
Tell me where the good boys go
Tell me where the good boys go

Where do the good boys go to hide away, hide away?
I'm a good good girl who needs a little company
Looking high and low, someone let me know
Where do the good boys go to hide away, hide away?

Hide away, hide away
Hide away, hide away
Looking high and low, someone let me know
Where do the good boys go to hide away, hide away?

When I finish singing, Thomas and Ansel stare at me.
"What?" I ask defensively.
"Your voice was beautiful." Ansel says.
"It was so perfect." Thomas says. I just look at them for a moment then focus on the road.
"Hey, am I a good boy?" Thomas asks then starts laughing.
"Maybe yes, maybe no." I answer. He looks at me with a sad face.
"Fine, you are a good boy. Happy now?" I ask. He nods his head quickly.

We arrive at mine and Thomas's house. Ansel is going to stay with us for the next couple of weeks. We walk inside and I put my stuff down. I plop myself onto the couch. Thomas just looks at me.
"I missed this place." I say into the couch. I'm so glad to be back. I also can't wait for Christmas. It's just around the corner. To be more specific, it is next week.
