But the important thing is: I want to bring you guys some Brazilian culture.. (even though 90% of the music I like is not from here, I'm a Brazilian at heart and soul and music IS the epitome of heart and soul)

rambling, I know...

Still, the song I chose for this chapter is beautiful! I must say I tried to translate it to English and it didn't sound as good as it is.... But I still want you to listen to it. (The translation will be in the end)

Hope you like the chapter =) Nice endind, btw.

Chapter Twenty One - Química (Chemistry)

"Faróis iluminavam meu coração

Feito faísca que virou uma explosão

E o tempo foi tornando tão intensa nossa paixão

Tem magia o teu sorriso encatador

Com você tudo é tão bom."

João Bosco e Vinícius

["Headlights brightened my heart

Like sparks that became an explosion

And the time made our passion so intense

There's magic in your enchanting smile

With you everything feels good."]

The awkwardness of the whole 'meeting Lucas' parents as official girlfriend' was not a bit close to what felt like going to the office on the Monday after.

There were glares coming in my direction the entire day, whenever I was walking through the corridors. And I couldn't even blame them. I never explained anything to them. Sure, I was never the most social person on Earth, but I could admit that if I tried to talk to my co-workers, maybe they wouldn't assume I'm just a tramp trying to steal Lucas's money. And yes, I read that on a magazine.

The only person aside from Peter and, of course, Luke, who didn't judge me or made any assumptions, was the shy brown-haired girl from HR, Melissa. Actually, she was the only one in the office who spoke to me without really having to.

And that's why I was waiting anxiously in the kitchen of the fourth floor, tapping my fingers on the counter. Tonight would be the charity ball and I wanted to invite her. I knew she would probably decline and say she already had other plans because, yes, I knew it was completely short noticed, but I would do it anyways. And I knew she usually comes to kitchen, after Lunch time, because I always catch her going there when I come back from Lunch.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't know there were people here." Melissa said walking in the kitchen while muttering a song to herself. When she realized it was me, I saw her blushing and prepare to leave.

"No, I actually was just leaving." I told her and she stopped, turning back to me. "But I kind of wanted to talk to you." I said, wondering how bad I was talking with shy people.

"Did I do anything wrong? Because if I did, I'll fix it. You don't have to worry." Melissa looked completely freaked out and I felt sorry for being the one freaking her out.

"No, you didn't do anything, relax." I told her and she sighed in relief.

"Oh, thank God. My mom would kill me if I got fired." She said more to herself and I smiled. "But what would you want to talk to me about?" Melissa asked now completely confused.

"You know tonight is the charity ball, right? The one the company is holding to raise money to the hospital..." Mellissa nodded and stared at me waiting for me to continue. "So, since you helped with the invitation and all, I wondered if you wouldn't want to go. I know it's tonight and I should have invited you before but..." Fine, now I was rambling.
