After returning home, Alice bombarded me with several questions. Reeve's personality, her favourite colour, so on and so on.
"Yes, Alice," I kept saying. "It went really well." The next day, while watching TV, she comes over and sits beside me with a packet of sherbert lemons. "So you haven't got over your obsession yet then?" I ask her, taking one. "I'll never get enough." She jokes, eating one. Jasper walks in and kisses Alice before pulling me in for a hug. I thought of the way Reeve sat on Viktor's lap yesterday, and sighed enviously. Daddy's girl.

"Something wrong Jared?" He asks, lifting my chin while I try to keep my face buried in his chest. "Jared?" He tries again. I sigh again. "You said we'd talk about last Thursday." I state. "Yeah, about that, what happened?" Alice enquires, head on a side, looking like a cute puppy. Jasper looks at me and sighs. "I took Jared to where we used to live." He says. Alice gives no expression. "Where we lived with Maria." He adds.

Alice's eyes narrow to slits in anger. "You did what!" She yells. She stands up and pulls me against her, cradling me. "How could you do that?!" She yells again, her hands covering my ears. "That must have killed Jared! She must have been in so much emotional pain! How could you put her through that?!" She kisses the top of my head, trying to calm me. "Do you really think I wanted to upset her?!" Jasper's angry side is coming through as well now. "I love Jared! She's my daughter!" He screams. The others rush in, half expecting a murder to be taking place.

Carlisle pulls me away from Alice and hands me to Edward, who's arms circle my waist from behind. "What's going on?" Carlisle demands, his voice rather calm. "This is between me and Alice." Jasper says and looks away, upset. "Jasper, I am your father. I need to know what's happening." His voice is low, still calm. "If you and Alice aren't happy together, then maybe you should-"
"Wait, what? We're fine!" Alice insists. "I guess our argument spiralled out of control." She turns to Jasper, his arms go around her.

"Are they divorcing? What's going on?" I whisper to Edward, a tremble in my voice. "Ssh, Curly, it's alright." Emmett mutters. "Let's give them some time together okay?" He says to everyone. Edward leads me off to the small living room, where I start to sob. "I caused their argument!" I whimper, while Edward holds me across his lap, patting my back in a smooth rhythm. "No, love," He replies, and strokes my hair. "It wasn't your fault." He continues. "It is," I groan sadly. "I started it!" I break down until I'm eventually sobbing and Edward turns me to face him.

"Look at me Jared." He orders. I don't listen. "Jared," He warns. I keep sobbing until a sharp pain goes across my face. I clutch at it, gasping, before realising Edward has slapped me. "I had to do that. To calm you. Do you understand?" He asks, with a calm voice. I nod, my sobs turning into small sniffs.

"I'm calm, but I hated her, Edward. I hated my mother." I admit and he nods. "Jasper told me everything when he came to us." He smiles softly.
I start sobbing again. "Jared, no, please, love, stop crying." He pulls my head onto his shoulder, while I'm still in his lap. I must look like the biggest baby. "Hush, now." He whispers, he kisses my ear, sending a cold breeze through me. I relax and before long, Jasper and Alice return, holding hands.

"See," Edward murmurs, in a told-you-so sort of voice.
"I'm always right."
