In Loving Memory of Margaret, my beautiful great grandmother.

Rest in Peace Nana, we miss you loads.

This story is set in around the time of Twilight Eclipse.

Another quick note: my writing has gotten so much better over the last two years. This story gets better, I promise.

"Well have I got a surprise for you!" I look up to see my Uncle Peter unusually smiling at me.

"What's the surprise?" I ask, sitting myself up on the chair.

"Your Dad wants to see you!" My Aunt Charlotte walks into the room, finishing the sentence. Oh. My. God.

"As if! He never asks!" I protest.

"Well listen to this little madam and you'll see I'm telling the truth." Uncle Peter starts and unfolds a piece of paper in his hand.

Dear Peter and Charlotte,

I am writing you this letter on important circumstances. A newborn army has been created by a vampire we do not know. We need your help to fight them off and help Bella hide from them when they come as it is her they want.

"He's wants help with the army." I correct.

"Keep listening." Uncle Peter says.

Also I haven't seen Jared in a while and I know we don't really get along but I'd like to see her, so maybe you could bring her along. You and Charlotte won't have to come for a few days yet but I'd like Jared to visit as soon as possible for maybe four or five days.

Yours sincerely,

Jasper Hale.

"No way! He hates me! You know he does!" I scream, eyes wide.

"Hey relax, Jared. It's just five days, that's all." Uncle Peter reasons with me.

"No I'm not having any of it! I'm not going! You can't make me!" I shout and run into my room.

My name is Jared Whitlock. I am thirteen years old and I live with my Aunt Charlotte and Uncle Peter. My father is Jasper Hale but my mother Maria is dead. I'd always found it hard to live with my father as he was so quiet and forlorn and I more loud and clumsy. Anyway, I no longer live with him thank God. But now he wants me to visit.......save me.

"Jared? Come on, you need to pack." Uncle Peter orders.

"Not going." I mutter through gritted teeth.

"Well you'll have to because Alice just called and said she'll pick you up." Aunt Charlotte buts in.

"Wha wha....what today?" I stammer, standing up. Uncle Peter nods and pulls out my dreadful light pale pink suitcase patterned with roses.

"Now? We need to pack right now?" I ask, feeling flushed. A soft chiming sound ran out through the house.

The doorbell. Alice.

"She's here!" Aunt Charlotte says and runs outs.

"She goes too fast in that yellow Porsche." Uncle Peter remarks and frantically ransacked my wardrobe for clean clothes and girly type skirts and dresses to please Alice and Rosalie's taste.

"Hello handsome!" Peter and I turn in unison to see Alice looking her usual pixie like self in a dark blue dress with brown boots and black tights leaning against the coffee table in the hall.

"Me handsome? Or her?" Uncle Peter smiles, walking into the hall to kiss Alice's cheek.

"We ready to go?" She squeals, walking forward and hugging me.

Aunt Charlotte zips and hands me the suitcase and squeezes me in a hug.

"See you in five days." She says and Uncle Peter hugs as well.

I nod solemnly and follow Alice out through the hall and into the Porsche.

"You go fast in that and I'll be sick." I warn, stepping in the front while she pulls my suitcase with one hand into the boot. "As if I would." She laughs and shoves her foot on the gas pedal when she was seated.

"Uh seatbelt?" I mutter, wrapping mine around myself.

"No, we'll be fine." Alice decides.

"I don't fancy dying!" I yell over the sound of the car.

She was now going around one hundred miles an hour.

"If I die, my pocket money consists of four pounds and twenty six pence. Tell Aunt Charlotte and Uncle Peter to share it between them!" I yell.

"Jared," Alice starts, "Any money you have, goes to me." She jokes and drives even faster.
