When I wake, it's morning. I forget where I am and instantly call out for Jasper, before realising the bed I'm lying on is double the size to my one at home. I sit up, panicking. Wait, what happened? I look down, I'm still wearing my clothes. I didn't shower? I stand up and walk around the room. I sit back on the bed and reach into my pocket.

Damn, I left my phone in the house. There's a knock at my door. I scan the room quickly before hiding in a wardrobe. I close the two sides. Heaven let them stay slightly open, I don't want to be locked inside a wardrobe. I peer through the gap, awaiting my visitor.

Generally if there's no answer after knocking, you'd open the door afterwards to check if the person is actually in the room, but no. Whoever was at my door has retreated back down the hall, judging by their footsteps. I turn my attention to the clothes in the wardrobe. Long black cloaks with thick hoods and the Volturi insignia printed into them....shit!

Oh, of course. Now I remember. Reeve. Her uncle. Big bad Aro Volturi of all people. Yeah, we may not have met, but he did almost kill Edward and Bella a few years back and so I'm sure he won't be a fan of mine. Unless him and Reeve have a close bond. I could work that to my advantage. Act like the number one girlfriend, and maybe win him over, leading him to eventually let me go. Jesus, my life has gone from neutral to family drama to being imprisoned in the Volturi.

Just as I think the coast is clear and I'm stepping out of the wardrobe, the door flies open. I pull back the sides quickly, trying not to make them slam. Damn, another knock would have been nice. There are more than one of them. Two voices, I think, men, deep in conversation.

"This can't be her room."
"It is! I brought her here myself. It's the only guest room that's open!"
"So she's escaped?!" The voice turns to a growl. "No, no! She might have gone somewhere else. She may have come looking for the masters." The softer voice reasons.
"How do you know that?"
"Well, I just have a feeling." "Demetri, you drive me insane."

I groan inwardly. Demetri and Felix. Aro's henchmen. No doubt the most merciless guards in the higher ranks. Well this is going to be fun. "What's going on?" A sharper, female voice cuts through as she comes in. Damn, I wish I could see what was happening. "Where is she?" It demands. Jane, no doubt. Great, today is not a good one.

"We're not sure ma donna, we're looking for her now." Felix's voice shrinks slightly by Jane's authority. "Well, you'd better. Aro wants her immediately. Take her alive." She leaves the room. The other two follow. I wait at least five minutes before stepping out. May as well hand myself in.

I creep through the door and down a long brown corridor. There are paintings on either side of the walls. One, is identical to a painting Carlisle has at home. From his years here at The Volturi. It's mindblowing to think of Carlisle as someone who lived with these people. People who murdered others, some who were innocent.

"Excuse me, senora." I turn around to see a man, human, mid fifties perhaps, walking towards me. "Oh, um, Bongiorno, sir." I smile, I think that's how you say 'good morning'.

He smiles back. "Senora, the master wants to talk to you." He says in his strong accent. "Master?" I tremble. The Volturi had human servants? "Si, just a few questions. It will take uno momento." His voice is full of entusiasm.

I turn and let him lead me to the main hall, the throne room, I remember Carlisle naming it. "Now just stay here. No harm will come to you." He smiles and drifts off to his family, dressed in red, who are standing by a table, piled with ancient books. A woman, and two younger women. A few minutes pass until my new Italian friend calls out to me. "Here we go. Just answer the questions and it will be ok." He reasons. He's scared for me, I think. I nod thanks, no time to ask his name, and with that, Aro and his brothers glide into the room.
