"It's twelve o'clock, Josie," I said as I put on some dark jeans. I was looking out the window, seeing it get darker and darker by the minute. Yeah, it was a good day to wear jeans. "I'm leaving in fifteen minutes so that I'll make it by twelve forty five."

"Make sure you look cute, too!" I hear Skylar scream, and I roll my eyes.

"Sure, that'll happen because it's the most important thing that needs to happen today," I say sarcastically.

"It is!" they all yell at me. "Just be here early." I say ok before I hang up and go to the bathroom. I wash my face and brush my teeth again, taking my hair brush out of the cabinet. I run it through my hair, and then my fingers, before liking my hair and throwing a beanie on. I looked in the mirror.

I quickly put on some high waist jeans, a gray t-shirt and a white cardigan. I put on my glasses and looked at my watch. "Mom! I'm not dying of screams and yells today because you forgot the time again," I yell as I close the door to my room.

"Ok! Carmen told me that Josie was going to bite your head off if you were late," mom said, grabbing the keys. I walked out to the garage, opening the door of it before I sat in the passenger's seat of the van. I hated this van, it was brown and old. It looked like a driving turd by now to me. But it got us places, so that was ok.

I pull out my phone, not knowing what to do for the next 30 minutes. I put my head phones in, and put my music on shuffle.

"Mom, what is it?" I asked, opening my eyes. I looked around and saw that we were at the church where I went to my Chemistry class was held. I was confused, and I realized that mom was shaking me.

"You fell asleep," she replied. "But don't worry; we just got here not even a minute ago." I opened the door, nodding my head. I step out, and throw my backpack on my shoulders. Well, not like a school backpack, but a purse backpack.

Anyways, I look at my phone and see that I've been bombarded with texts from all of the girls. They all had the same message: He's here. I even had a voicemail from Josie. "Cassie, I swear if you don't get here this instant I... I will, I will..." She faded off into her threat, not knowing what to say. And then I heard her voice again. "I will take all of your One Direction posters! Yeah." I make a face, wondering how well that threat would work. "Ok, I wouldn't do that, but he's here! So, hurry up!" She was whispering the whole time of the voicemail, so he must have been close.

I'm not looking forward to this, I thought to myself as I grabbed my folder and walked towards the building. I looked around the parking lot behind me, and saw an unknown car. It was small, silver, and the front looked like a bug to me. All in all, I thought it was adorable, and I loved it that instant.

I walked up the ramp, and I felt a little nervous, which was strange and foreign to me. I'd never had a reason to feel like this in a while. I walked all the way to the door and put my hand on the door handle.

"Well, aren't you going to open the door, honey?" my mom asked, and I jumped. I looked back at her as I nodded my head.

"Of course," I replied. "Yeah, I was just about to." I was telling myself that more than I was telling my mom, but I took a deep breath before entering my doom.

He was surrounded. I'm almost certain that every single girl had wished they didn't say yes to the guy that asked them to prom last week. I almost laughed, but then he turned towards my way.

And was he cute!

He was taller than me, and all the other girls. He didn't hover over like a giant, but he had some significant height. I stood there, sizing him up.

He looked casual. He had on some white shoes. They were clean, but you could tell that he wore them a lot, and played in them. He had on black jeans. And he had on a white t-shirt, and over that a subtle pink button up that wasn't buttoned at all.

He was cute. He had this medium sized nose, and the point was like a ball. I thought it was adorable. His eyes were really, pretty. They were big, brown ones that were framed by his eyelashes. They weren't too long, from what I could tell; maybe medium length. But it was because they were so dark that I could see them so well. His hair was curly and straight, just at the bottom of his ears. His fringe was styled to flop down to the side a bit. I could see that, if I were to pat it down, it would reach right above his eyebrows.

As we stood there, all of the girls turned to see what he was looking at. Well, all except for Josie, Ava, Lanie, and Skylar. They were all bouncing on their heels, hands in tight balls to their mouths.

He walked up to me, seeing as I had lost my chance when I was looking at him. I cleared my throat as he got closer, a smile on his face. I smiled too, having to crane my neck a little to look at his face.

"Hey," he said simply. I couldn't help but chew on the inside of my cheek as I shifted my weight from one foot to the other. "I'm Eli," he said, holding out his hand. I looked at it for a quick second before putting my hand in his. His hand was huge; it could swallow mine.

"Hi," I say, shaking his hand once and then letting it go. "I'm Cassie." He – Eli nods his head.

"Nice to meet you, Cassie," he says smoothly. He looks past me, and I turn too. The door wasn't even open anymore. "I guess," he started, and I turned my attention back to him, "you know why I'm here." I raise my eyebrows, wondering where he was going. "It's your lucky day! I have come to say that I'll take you to prom." I start laughing.

"Is that it?" I asked. I saw Josie and Lanie shaking their heads. I wasn't persuaded when he chose the words that left his mouth. "Don't you think you should ask me instead of stating it? I could not accept it you know." I look at Eli, and he looks stunned. I guess he was expecting me to be hypnotized or something. I start to walk away.

"But," Eli starts. I stop and turn around. "I saw you last week, and you needed to be asked."

"I didn't need to be asked, and I also didn't need to be told that I was going. It would be more polite to ask." I look at him, and he looks a little defeated. I couldn't help but feel a little sad, then he seemed to become more... Confident.

"You're right. Will you go to my senior prom with me?" Eli asks. I knew that the girls would be mad at me of I said no, considering that this guy was attractive. I knew that my mom would be disappointed because I would've shut down a 'date'. And I knew that I would regret not saying yes to him. I wouldn't know what would happen after; I would have so many 'what if' moments. But what if it turned out to be a disaster because I said yes?

I sighed, shaking my head. And I saw Eli jump up, along with the girls, in victory. And I knew his reaction wasn't wrong; I gave in, too afraid of regretting my decision later on. He walked up to me with a smile on his face, and held his cell phone out. I looked at him with raised eyebrows. "You need to put your number in my phone," he told me simply, poking my stomach with it. I squirmed away, only to have him do it again until I took his phone.

I watched him carefully as he crossed his arms, holding them in each of his hands. I thought for a second that I should put ina different number, but I decided against it. I wasn't that mean. I saved my contact, and then handed him his phone back. Instead of just putting the phone away, he looked at it, and pressed a button before putting the phone to his ear. I was confused until I felt my butt start to vibrate. I looked at him, and tried to ignore it. But I couldn't take it after about 15 seconds, and I pulled my phone out of my back pocket. "Happy?"

"Yes, I am," he says into the phone, even though he was right in front of me. I end the call quickly, walking away. "I'll see you later, Cass!" he yelled as I walked into the class room.

Dealing with him will be long.
