I woke up last. It wasn't unusual though, and it wasn't late either. It was 10:30 in the morning, which meant mom and dad must have left about 10 minutes ago. I sat up, feeling stiff in my back, and pat my head. If it felt like a bird's nest, I wonder how it looked.

I saw the girls groaning, and stretching out their arms. I saw their faces, and I knew that they had an awful taste in their mouths, just like I did. I stood up, stretching my arms as the girls got their toothbrushes out of their bags. They all left my room before me, Ava and Lanie going to my parents' bathroom because there were two sinks, Skylar going to my brother's bathroom, and Josie going to mine. That left me with the kitchen. Great.

I walked out of my room, quickly turning the corner into my kitchen while I scratched my head. I didn't look around, still mostly asleep. I already had wet and put toothpaste on my toothbrush, so all I needed to do was start brushing.

I spit, very unlady like, to be honest, and then I was scared out of my wits.

"Very attractive, Cass," I heard. I practically hit the ground because of how sudden the voice came. I didn't even see anyone when I came out of my room! I looked, and saw Eli getting off of my couch in the living room. I held my heart.

"Jesus, Eli!" I exclaimed, and the girls all came in running. "You gotta give a girl some warning before you do that! I thought you could've been some psycho, serial killer!" He walked towards me, and grinned. "How did you get in anyways?"

"Your mom let me in," he tells me, shrugging his shoulders. "And, I must say that your dad is really funny, he told me a couple of things before they both left." He smirked, and then ran his hand through my hair. "And thanks," he started, "for letting me see the reality of how girls act and look when they wake up."

"Uh!" I muttered annoyed while slapping his hand away harshly. I glowered at his back as he went to my bathroom. I heard ruffling, and then saw him come back with my hair brush. He held my shoulders so that I wouldn't move as he brushed the knots out of my hair, making it look decent. I ran my fingers through my hair after he put the brush down, eyeing him. "Thanks," I mutter before turning around and putting my toothbrush back into my mouth. "You should've warned me that you were coming."

"Yeah, like you did to me last night?" Eli chuckles and I freeze. What did he mean by that? I looked past him to the girls, and they all shake their heads, not understanding. I raise an eyebrow at him.

"What are you talking about?" I ask before spitting on more time. I get a glass of water, and then spit that out too. I wipe my mouth, and turn to see Eli's shoulders moving.

"You mean you don't remember Hottie McHotPants?" I looked around, so confused that he mentioned that. I never had even mentioned that. "Three thirty in the morning? You called me for no reason?" I shake my head.

"I never did that." I never did anything, not that I know of, anyway. But I couldn't have possibly called him in the middle of the night. There was no way. Eli whistles, and a boy with dyed blonde hair, and hint of eyeliner came out from my dining room, behind me.

"I didn't think you would remember. But my friend, Jackson, here recorded the whole conversation." Jackson smiles at all of us, saying a quiet hello before pulling his phone out. I didn't see how they were friends, they look totally different. I'm not stereotyping, but Jackson looked like the punk rock kinda guy, but definitely not emo! He pressed a button, and I started to hear my voice.

"–hot, so why not put his name as Hottie McHotPants?" I heard my laugh, and my mouth opened as I heard the rest of the conversation. Everything came rushing back to me. I needed a whole to fall into right this moment. I felt a blush creeping to my cheeks, and I couldn't bring myself to look at Eli. I knew he was smirking at me. I chewed on the inside of my cheek, and walked up to the girls who had formed a semi-circle just behind the boys.

"The next time you guys decide to bring that many sweets at a surprise sleepover, we're all off our phones for the whole night," I whisper to them. They look at me with wide eyes, and we all nod our heads.

"So," Eli said, and I turned around, feeling a little bit more comfortable to actually look him in the face. "Am I going to have to come up with a pet name for you since you came up with Hottie McHotPants?" Jackson started to hide his laughter, which was the complete opposite of Eli.

"As if!" I exclaimed, grabbing my toothbrush and putting it back in my bathroom. I came back in and everyone was quiet. I looked around, and all of us girls somehow managed to all get on the counter tops. We all made ourselves smaller by pulling in our legs. The boys just stood.

"So," I started, "how did you two meet?" I tried the best I could to make small talk. I could already feel the tension of awkward slithering its way into the perfect un-awkward air of my house. Eli and Jackson looked at each other nervously, as if trying to come up with something. I squinted my eyes, suspicious.

"Um, yeah, well," Eli started falling over his words. "We've been good friends for a while, actually best friends. He goes to my school." Eli looks at me, but not in the eye.  He;s not telling me the truth, but I'll let it pass for now.

"Oh, that's cool," I say, and Jackson claps his hands together.

"I loved meeting you all, but I was forced because I had the evidence. My dad and I had plans today, so I better be getting back to him," he looks kind of sad, but starts walking to the door. "It really was nice meeting you all though, and I hope to hang out with y'all later. See ya, man," he says to Eli. The door closes and I look at Eli.

"I'm guessing he wasn't your ride?" I assume. And Eli nods his head.

"We came in different cars, he just followed me."

"And how did you find out where I lived?" I asked, because I never told him. I barely even talked to him over the past two weeks besides the occasional once a week text.

"I got it from your mom," he says simply, shrugging his shoulders. "I didn't go all creepy stalker on you, ya know." I eye him, not sure about his story. "Oh, come one, Cass! How else would I have known? I put your address in my phone." He thinks about what he just said. "In the map or GPS thing on my phone," he corrects. I laugh.

"So," I say, not really knowing what to do. I look around, fiddling with my fingers. "What were you planning on doing after you showed us the recording?" I asked him.

"I didn't think that far, to be honest." He puts his hands in his back pockets, and shrugs. "I was figuring that we all could hang out, maybe just ch–"

"Huh!"

"Nope. No."

"Nuh uh."

"No thanks, we're good." All of the girls interrupted him mid-sentence, shaking their heads and getting off of the counters. They all went into my room, and I looked around, unmoving, with wide eyes and raised eyebrows. I had no idea what they were doing. They came back out with their bags on their backs.

"You two can hang out, spend some time together," they said together, grinning. I put my head in my hand, shaking it. "But we have to do something somewhere else at some other time other than this. So, you two lovebirds have fun!" they yell running out the door before I could say anything about their second impromptu plan.

I looked at Eli, and he looked at me with raised eyebrows, hands in his pockets. "And then there were two."

A/N: LOL so um if anyone were to re-read this book, I deleted the chapter before this because oh my gosh it was terrible. For those who are reading for the first time, don't worry, I did you a favor by deleting the chapter before you could actually read it. There was no way to bring it back from that nightmare.
