I'm sorry for posting this chapter so late, I was having exams awhile ago and now that the papers have ended, i finally have the time to write this chapter. It'll be a pretty long chapter, hope you guys will like it:))

I tossed and turned in bed, despite my tired self, my eyes refused to shut itself and let sleep take over. Whenever I close my eyes, only one thing, or rather one person was on my mind. Angelle.

To say that I was worried was an understatement. Images of her crying alone at night filled my mind, and my heart ached.

I longed to return to her side, but I couldn't do so.

Days passed by one by one and by the hundredth day, I was still how I was when I left Elle. Lifeless. It seemed like all energy has been sucked out of me. I looked like a zombie.

I was brooding by the balcony when Aristo walked up to me. Aristo was the advisor of the Underworld. A wise old man. He sported thinning grey hair and donned on a dark rope, as always. I have always wondered how old this guy was. He never aged, in fact, none of us from the Underworld did. We were immortals.

"Jeremy," he acknowledged my presence and I sent a greeting in response.

"How are you doing kid?" He asked.

Hearing him call me kid is pretty weird. Though I was eighteen on the outside, I have lived for thousands of years. However, as compared to Aristo, I was still a kid.  He had been here for centuries.

"Coping, I guess..." I trailed off.

"You're doing badly in that department," Aristo gave me an onceover and shook his head with furrowed brows.

I heaved a sigh, "I can't forget her."

"Yes, I can tell. Here, take a look at this book," Aristo told me while handing me a book, which appeared out of mid air.

"What's this?" I looked at the title in curiousity. Mortality.

"Exactly what it says on the cover page."

With that short reply, Aristo vanished.

A rather bold idea popped into my mind and with a snap of my fingers, I teleported myself back to my room.

I flipped the pages of the thick book, scanning through every page.

It is possible for a Devil to become mortal beings again.

However, all things come with a risk.

The Devil is at risk of having his/her existence terminated.

Do it at your own risk.

If you're still confident, read on.

In order to become a mortal, the Devil has to jump off the Never Peak.

The Never Peak. It is always a topic among the Devils, but no one dare bring it up openly. There have been many cases of Devils trying to make their way up the peak and were never heard from after that.

Though I have never been there before, I have heard of how much the temperature fluctuates there. One could either get scotched by the heat or freeze due to the cold.

What are the chances of me surviving in those conditions? Wouldn't it be easier for me to pick a needle out of a haystack? However, if I never take the risk, I'll never know.

With a sigh, I lied down on the bed, weighing the options in my head. Elle's beautiful smiling face flashed in my mind. I missed her so much.

What would I do if I were to never see her again?  I was given a chance to go back to her, why am I hesitating? With a new resolve in mind, I went to bed and rested for the unknowing days ahead.
