Chapter 2

Maya POV

It only took Lucas and I a few days to unpack everything. It felt good to officially be moved into our place. Today we had a baby doctor appointment and this would be the one where we find out if we are having a little boy or a little girl. McKenzie agreed to go with us so we would be picking her up shortly. I was currently trying to find a shirt that fit while Lucas sat there on the bed doing something on his phone.

"Lucas?" I said causing him to look up from his phone.

"What's up?" he asked.

"Why did you have to go and knock me up?" I said and he chuckled.

Lucas stood up off the bed and walked over to me. He placed his arms around me and nuzzled my face into his shirt "Hmm, well it was certainly not my intention to knock you up but I have the most beautiful girlfriend ever and when I saw her standing there looking so beautiful in nothing but a towel I couldn't help but want her." I looked up at him and smiled it was clearly evident by my face that I was blushing.

"You really know how to make me weak don't you?" I said to him "I think I might just wear one of your t-shirts today."

I settled on one of Lucas's t-shirts and a pair of Yoga pants. They were most comfortable for me right now. Mom, Topanga, Riley, and I had a shopping trip planned before school. Once I was ready Lucas and I headed on over to his Mom's place to pick up McKenzie. I was very curious as to how she was going to be today. Kenzie was waiting for us and she looked adorable in her little sundress. 

"HI, Maya." McKenzie said as she walked up to me.

I couldn't help but smile at her. "Hey babe, how are you doing?" 

"I'm good. " she replied. 

"That's good." I answered. "Are you ready to go?" 

"Yes, I'm ready." she replied. 

Lucas, Kenzie. and I headed out to the car. Lucas strapped her into her booster seat and then we headed off to the hospital. 

"Hey shortstack, are you ready to see the baby?" Lucas said breaking the silence that had filled the car. 

"I guess so, Lukey." she replied and I just looked at him and sighed. 

"McKenzie why are you so upset about Maya and I having a baby?" Lucas asked her. 

"Because you just got home a couple months ago and now you are leaving again." she said sadly. 

"I'm not leaving. You are still going to see me everyday." Lucas said trying to make her feel better. 

"Yeah Kenzie, I'll still come and get you after school." I replied. 

"Okay." was all she said. 

We arrived at the hospital on time and luckily we didn't have a long wait. Lucas grabbed McKenzie's hand and together we walked with the nurse.  She checked my weight, blood pressure, and pulse which were all good and then said that Dr. Ackerman would be in shortly. In the mean time she wanted me to change into a hospital gown since I was having an ultrasound today.  Since it was okay to keep my bra on I just changed right there. This would be the first time that McKenzie would ever really get to see my baby bump.
