A/N: I have changed the title of this story to "Destiny" because I wasn't happy with the one I originally chose. I also think it fits better as a sequel title since the first book is called "Fate". Also this chapter is completely in Katy's POV as this is where the major story-line i have planned starts. You guys are in for an emotional roller coaster. ;)

Katy POV

Maya moving out was a big change for me. It has always been me and her. She was my rock and saving grace when things got tough. Raising her wasn't easy and I don't mean in the sense that she was a bad child. I meant in the sense that I had to work so much to support us since her father wanted nothing to do with her. I'm really excited to meet Kinleigh and to know that Maya wants me to come to her next doctors appointment with her really makes my day. Maya might only be 18 years old but there is one thing for sue that she will be a great mother to her baby girl and she has such an amazing boyfriend in Lucas. He treated her like a princess and I loved seeing my baby girls so happy.

I had just got done putting some laundry though and was making my way into the living room to watch TV when there was a knock on the door. I thought maybe it was Topanga stopping by but it wasn't.

I walked over to the door and when I opened it my mouth went agape when I saw who it was "Kermit? What the hell are you doing here?" I said and now I was almost angry.

"Katy, I know that this is very shocking to you but please me explain." he said and so because I was so curious as to why he was here I let him come inside.

"Make it quick because I don't have all day." I said as I sat down on the couch and flipped off the TV.

"I'm sure you are wondering why I'm here. I was in the grocery store the other day when I ran into a young teen girl whom I'm pretty certain was my daughter". he replied "Ever since then I couldn't get it off my mind so I googled your address so that I could come talk to you. "

"Are you sure it wasn't some other girl you knocked up?" I snapped.

"I don't have any other children, Katy. I'm certain the girl was my daughter as she looks identical to you." he answered and I had to admit that Maya really did look more like me than she did him. "Could you please show me a picture of her so I can confirm if it is her that I saw?

I stood up off the couch and walked over to the shelf that sat in the corner of the room. It had a recent picture of Maya and Lucas siting on it. I picked up the frame and walked over to him.

"This is a picture of Maya and her boyfriend Lucas." I said before handing him the picture.

He took it from me and looked at it. He didn't speak for a few seconds but smiled at the picture. "I was right, it was her. She's beautiful." he said as he handed me back the picture.

"Yes, shes very beautiful." I replied as I walked back over to the shelf and placed the picture on it. "Why are you here?"

"I'm sorry that I left you to raise her alone." he said to me and I looked up at him.

"We got by just fine without you." I retorted.

"Would it be possible for me to see her?" he asked and I looked at him with an annoyed look.

"Why are you doing this? Your 18 years late on this one Kermit." I replied and I was getting angry now. "Why after 18 years do you want to suddenly waltz into her life?"

"Because I have regretted everyday of my life not being there for you or her. When I saw her in the grocery store that day my heart became full. We were young and I got scared. The only thing I can say is I'm sorry." he replied.

"I don't know. I'll have to talk to her about all of this, Kermit. I don't want stress on her right now since she is pregnant." I answered.

"She's pregnant?" he asked and seemed to be surprised.

"She's about to hit the 23 mark. How did you not notice?"

"When I saw Maya she was wearing a rather large shirt." he replied.

As much as I hated to admit I couldn't not talk to Maya about all of this. The one thing she's wanted her whole life was to have a father. Maybe this would give them the chance to reconnect. As I sat here lost in thought as Kermit talk the door burst open. I stood up when I saw it was Maya who unexpectedly came over.

"Hi Mommy! Me and Kinleigh are craving one of your Tuna Melts" she said as she came through the door but then she stopped once she laid eyes on Kermit. "Wait, aren't you the guy from the Grocery store?"

I turned to look at Kermit "I'll be back." I said and then I grabbed Maya's hand and puled her into my bedroom.

"Mom, whats going on? You're scaring me" she said with an alarmed look one her face

"There is nothing to be scared of. Maya the man in the living room is your father." I said to her.

"What?" she said and I could see the tears welling up in her eyes.

I pulled over to my bed and sat down pulling her in my arms "I know that this comes as a shock baby girl but he said he'd like to get to know you."

"Why now?" she said and I could tell she was becoming annoyed.

"I don't know. He said that he saw you in the store and that he knew right away that you were his daughter. I'm sorry Maya, I know this is the worse timing right now. I planned to talk to you about everything after he left. He apologized and said that he regrets everything that he was young and got scared."

"It's okay Mom. I know he wasn't there for us but I have to find it in my heart to forgive him. I'm pregnant now and I saw how scared Lucas was. It doesn't excuse anything but maybe this would give me a chance to have a relationship I've always wanted." she said and I saw the tears running down here cheeks.

I wiped away her tears and tilted her chin to make her look at me "If this is what you really want then do it."

Maya looked at me and nodded "I think it is. I don't want to keep Kinleigh away from her Grandpa" she replied.

"I'll be there for you every step of the way. I know that you will have a lot of questions for him so when things get tough I'm here for you." I said as i hugged her and kissed her on the forehead.

Maya and I made our way out to the living room where Kermit was waiting for us. We sat down on the small couch and I placed my arm around Maya.

"She's willing to do this but you will not under any circumstances hurt my daughter during this and if she want's me there then I'm going to be there" I said to him.

"Thank you for giving me a chance, Maya. Maybe the three of us could do dinner together. I'll pay for it."

"That sounds fine." Maya said to him.

Kermit wrote down his number and gave it to me. I think he sensed that this was a bit emotional right now so he didn't push me further on it. Maya decided to spend some time with me today since Lucas worked. I made her the tuna melt and we talked about different things that we were going to get Kinleigh and she told me all about her plans for the nursery. Aside from Kermit's drop in the day was perfect.
