Chapter 36

A/N: This chapter is the beginning of the time jumps. Kinliegh is 9 months old. I feel like this chapter kind of sucks and is sort of a filler. lol. I'm sorry. 

Maya POV

Summer has flown by so fast. I started work two months ago and everything has been going wonderful. Kinleigh is now 9 months old and has hit more milestones. Not only is she crawling now but she's also sitting up on her own and is starting pull herself up into standing position. I was very happy that Kinleigh adjusted so well when it came to staying with Lucas's Aunt who has been watching her for us. I enrolled in college again and will be starting classes in two weeks but this time instead of going for social work I have decided that I want to become a neonatal nurse. Seeing everything that my baby went through and how Sheila did such an amazing job at helping her inspired me to do something different. When I told Lucas he was so proud of me and happy for me that I wanted to do this. Today was a busy day at work. I actually had to have Lucas pick the baby up since I was going to be a little late. When I got home it was around 7:00 which was close for Kinliegh's bedtime Lucky for me my mom had Lucas  stop and pick up some taco's she made for dinner which meant that I didn't have to cook. All I needed to do was feed myself and give the baby a bath since Lucas already had her fed. When I came in I held Kinleigh for a few minutes since I missed her then went straight for my plate of food. My mom always made the best tacos.

"I miss you Huckleberry. It seems that I work too much." I said to him as I sat down beside him on the couch. 

"I miss you too. After you bathe the baby and put her to bed we'll have the rest of the night to cuddle and maybe do a little more. "he replied.

"Hopefully I don't fall asleep with her. At least it's the weekend and we are both off." I replied, 

"Exactly we can do something tomorrow. I'm sure your mom would watch the baby for us." he answered. 

After finishing up the rest of my dinner I grabbed Kinleigh from the floor and took her back to my and Lucas room so that I could bathe her in our bathroom. The first thing I did before bathing her was change into something more comfortable. Kinleigh was big enough now that she didn't to use her baby tub anymore. I loved it as it was so cute watching her play with the bath. I took her in the bathroom and placed her on the floor while I got her bath and bubbles started. As I let the tub fill up a little bit I undressed Kinleigh then placed her in the tub. I shut the water off that sat on the floor beside her and watched her play. She was splashing her arms and talking in baby talk playing happily. 

"You like tubby times don't you baby girl?" I said as I took a wash cloth and began washing her body with it. 

"I think it's safe to say she does, Mommy." Lucas said and I didn't even realize he was standing there. I looked up at him and smiled.

"For sure." I replied. 

"Da." Kinleigh said in baby talk. I tuned around to face her to make sure that I just heard that correctly. "Da." she said as she looked up at Lucas who was now beside me on the floor. 

"Did she just say 'Da'? Lucas asked with a big grin. 

"I think she did." I replied with a grin. "I won't lie I'm a little jealous. "

"Are you having fun peanut." Lucas said to her as he gently splashed a little bit of water towards her. 

"Da." she said again and began splashing excitedly. 

"You are just too cute smol bean." I chuckled. 

After bathing the baby I laid her in my bed and got in beside her so that I could feed her. She latched on right away and it wasn't long before she fell asleep. I just laid there admiring her as I brushed my hand along her forehead pushing the little bit of hair she had onto the side. She looked so peaceful laying beside me as she stayed latched onto me. I didn't want to move her. Every once in awhile she would suck so I wasn't sure if she was done yet. After some time went by Lucas came into the room check on us. 

"Everything okay?" he whispered as he sat down on his side of the bed. 

"Yes, she's just sleeping so peacefully. I didn't want to move her." I whispered. 

"You want me to put her in her crib?" Lucas asked. 

"Sure you can do that. I think she's done now." I answered as I pulled her off me. She stayed asleep so Lucas gently picked her up and carried her to the nursery. He came back within a few seconds later and got in beside me. Once he got situated I cuddled into him and he wrapped his arms around me. 

"What do you want to do tomorrow?" he asked. 

"I don't know. I was thinking about that too. I really miss Kinleigh a lot. All this working I feel like barely see you or her." I replied. 

"I understand. Why don't we just take off and go to Ocean City for the night? It's only a little over a 2 hour drive to get there. We could get a hotel and take her swimming then walk along the boardwalk." Lucas suggested. 

"That would be fun. It's supposed to be hot this weekend so we could even hit up the beach for a little bit." I replied. 

"I think it sounds great. We can get up early and just head out. It will be fun." he answered. 

I sat up and got on top of Lucas. I hovered over him and smiled as he looked at me. He knew what was coming next. He placed his hands on my bare legs causing me to shudder and l leaned down to kiss him softly on the lips. I wanted him. It had been awhile since we had been intimate and I knew what I wanted tonight. I bucked into him as we made out causing him to grunt in my mouth. I pulled away and looked at him with a grin. I knew how to get to him just as much as he knew how to get to me. 

"Fuck, Maya." he groaned as I did it once more. 

"I want you." I said as I took my shirt off throwing it behind me. I was bra-less and that caused Lucas to smirk. He pulled me down to him placed his lips on mine. I eased into that kiss and we made out for a minute before he flipped us over so he was now on top of me. I giggled as he took his shirt and pants off then went straight for my panties next. He kissed me so ferociously and then pulled away as he made a kiss trail down my neck. I moaned as he rubbed me to where he wanted me. It didn't take long for me at all. Lucas and I made love then cuddled. I was looking forward to our day tomorrow with just him and our baby girl.
