Chapter 37

A/N: This is going to go over 40 chapters. I might go to 50 if I need to just because I want to make sure this ends good. 

Maya POV

School started a month and a half ago. I am loving all my classes. Kinleigh is growing like a weed and for a baby who was born a month early she was hitting all the milestones she needed to be hitting. I told Lucas she was going to start walking soon. The older she got the more she looked like her Daddy. I couldn't believe my baby girl was going to be 1 years old in a month. I bought her Halloween costume. Lucas and I thought it would be cute if we dressed her as the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.  I walked in after a long day of classes to Kinleigh and Lucas playing on the floor. He had got her for me today since my last class didn't get over until 4:30. I was walking into the living room area when Lucas started calling my name. I wasn't that far from maybe just a few steps.

"Maya!" he said and I looked over at him. I started smiling as I saw Kinleigh standing on her own. 

"Mama." she said with her arms out. She took a few steps towards me and Lucas was grinning ear to ear. 

I kneeled to her level and put my arms out towards. "Come get Mommy smol bean. You can do it." 

"Ma, ma ma ma" she said and she took another step towards me. 

"Go get Mommy, go get her." Lucas encouraged. 

One more step and she would be in my arms. I grinned at her as she came towards me and when she got closer I grabbed her as she steadied herself. I started laughing "Yay you Kinleigh you did it." I said as i picked her up into my arms and kissed her on the cheek. "Can you go back to Daddy?"  

I placed her on the floor so she was facing Lucas he put his arms out towards her and I let her go. "Come to Daddy." he said and she started grinning ear to ear at him. 

"Da, Da" she said and she steadied herself then took a couple steps towards him. 

"We're in trouble." I chuckled. 

"Oh Kinleigh you are getting so big." Lucas said as he took her in his arms. She placed her hands on his mouth. 

"Da." She said and I chuckled. 

"She knows Daddy." I chuckled. I moved closer to Lucas and kissed him softly. "We've done so good." 

"We have done so good." Lucas said with a smile. "How was your day?" 

"It was good. Dragged on. I'm glad to be home." I said to him. "I think this guy in my class might like me." 

"What makes you think that?" he asked, 

"He asked me out." I replied, 

"Give me his name." Lucas said and I chuckled. 

"Relax. I told him I was taken." I said and leaned into kiss him.

"That's good. But I still want his name in case he tries anything." Lucas replied. "I don't want another Nate incident to take place." 

"Noo, you don't have to worry about him. Ryan is a really nice guy, He was totally respectful when I turned him down." I replied. 

"I will kick peoples ass. Don't even think I won't." Lucas said and I started laughing. 

"You're jealousy turns me on." I whispered then leaned into kiss him. 

Lucas eased into the kiss with some force and I smiled into his mouth. I pulled away and looked at our baby who was looking up at us. 

"Hi baby." I said and she put her arms out to me. 

"She might be a little hungry Mommy." Lucas said and he handed her to me. 

"Lets see if she is."  I said as I pulled out my boob. She did end up latching on right away. 

Even though Kinleigh is 11 months old I didn't mind that I was still breast feeding her. I wanted to do that as long as I could. I couldn't believe I was going to be planning her first birthday soon. She really loved Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so I was thinking of doing it in that theme which was pretty basic but I could come up with some really creative ideas. Mom already told me she wanted to make her cake. After we ate dinner Lucas went over to his Mom's to pick up Kenzie. She was missing us and wanted to come spend some time with us. Lucas told his Mom she could come stay the night and we'd take her to school in the morning. Kinleigh loved when Aunt Kenzie played with her. It was so cute watching them together because Kenz would get right on the floor play with her. 

"I've missed you Lukey." Kenzie said as she turned to face Lucas as she sat on the floor with  the baby.

"I have missed you too short stack. I'm glad you could come over." he replied with a smile. 

Kinleigh pulled herself up to the couch where Lucas and I were sitting. I watched as she took a couple steps towards Kenzie who lit up in excitement as she watched her take some steps. 

"Lukey, Maya she's walking!" Kenzie said wtih excitement. 

"I know, isn't that something? She took some steps for us earlier."  I smiled. 

Kenzie put her arms and Kinleigh went to her. It was cute watching them interact.  I let them play for awhile then had them get a bath since it was almost bed time for the both of them. I knew it was getting close for Kinleigh because she started getting fussy. Once Kenzie was done with her bath we all went into the living room. Since Kinleigh was so fussy I figured I'd just put her to sleep now. It didn't take her long to go down. When she fell asleep I took her into her nursery and gently laid her in there and covered her. She looked so peaceful sleeping.  I gently closed the door to the nursery then made my way back out to Lucas and Kenzie. Kenzie asked me to read her a bedtime story so I did. She loved me to do that because it reminded her when I would babysit her. After she went to sleep I went out and joined Lucas. I was glad to get some alone time with him. I straddled him on the couch and he looked at me with a grin. 

"The girls asleep?" he said with a smile. 

I didn't say anything to him. Instead I leaned into him and kissed him softly on the lips. I pulled away and placed my hand on his cheek then smiled at him. "They're out like lights." I said in a small whisper. 

"Hmm good. Because I want you to myself." he replied. Lucas cupped my cheek and pulled my face to his. I kissed him and we made out for a minute. I loved him so much sometimes it almost hurt. He's the best thing to ever come into my life and the best Daddy to our little girl. We were so damn blessed to have him. 

"I love you." I said to him. 

"I love you too." 

The rest of the night Lucas and I just cuddled until we got tired. His arms were and would always be home to me.
