Chapter 13

A/N: Doing something I've never done in Fate and am going into McKenzie's POV in some of this chapter.  Also this chapter is LONG. It's longer than I anticipated it would be. Over 2.7K words. LOL

Maya POV

Lucas had to stay back at NYU so that he could do a project with whoever he was partnered with. I planned to take Kenzie and surprise him with some dinner and take out. The first thing I did when I got home with McKenzie was help her with her homework. Her assignment was that she had to read a book to me and we had to also study her spelling words. Kenz was a grade A student and the top of her class. I couldn't be more proud of her. After all of her homework was out of the way I told her we were going to go surprise her brother. We made a stop at a Chinese Restaurant so that I could get him dinner. He told me the other night that was craving Chinese so I figured that's what I'd get him. Once we picked up his food Kenzie and I headed off to NYU. 

We were rounding entered the library and made our way towards the back where Lucas said that he was at and that's when I saw it. The dirty blonde haired girl he was studying with leaned in and kissed him. I cleared my throat and held back the tears. Lucas jumped away and looked at me. 

"Maya...let me explain." he said as he stood up from his chair. 

"Explain what Lucas Why you were just making out with the girl you were studying with? You know what I've wondered for awhile if you didn't want me anymore this confirms it. How could you do this when I'm 7 months pregnant?" I said as the tears ran down my face. 

"Maya it's not what you think. I swear." he pleaded. 

"I know what I saw with my own eyes and it was definitely what I think." I all but yelled at him. 

Lucas grabbed his books off the table and turned back to me "Come on lets get out of here and go somewhere and talk." he replied. 

"No you can save it. I'm done here. Lets go MckEnzie." I said as I threw his food at him. I grabbed McKenzie's hand and made my way out of the library. I could hear Lucas calling my name but I just kept going. 

I got to my car and buckled McKenzie into her seat. I turned around and Lucas standing there.  I shut the door and then turned to face him.

"Maya please don't do this. You need to let me explain." he said to me. 

"There is nothing to explain." I replied as the tears ran down my face. I got into my car closing the door behind. He didn't even try to stop me. 

I pulled out of the parking lot and began to make my way home. McKenzie was completely silent and looking at me with sad eyes. 

"Maya, I don't want you to fight with Lukey." she said sadly. 

"I'm sorry you had to witness that." I said I wiped the tears away. 

McKenzie nodded but didn't say anything in response. We got to a red light and my anxiety started to speed up causing me to begin having a panic attack. I was trying to keep myself under control but then I got a sharp pain in my abdomen. 

"Maya whats wrong?" McKenzie said and I could tell she was alarmed.

"It's okay, everything is okay." I said trying to take deep breaths. 

"Maya I'm scared." McKenzie said and I was really feeling horrible and trying to get a hold of myself. 

"Don't be scared." I said to her. 

Instead of going to my place I took McKenzie's to my moms. She wasn't home but I didn't care. We went in and I tried to reassure McKenzie that I was fine even though these shooting pains were happening every 8-10 minutes.
