12. Costumes

It's almost Halloween, and I don't know what I want to be. I grab my phone and open the group chat.

Liza: Guys I need help

Erin: And you just realized that?

Carly: Erin lay off of her

Erin: I'm kidding

Gabbie: What's up

Zane: Hey

Scotty: What did I miss?

Alex: Boo!

Liza: I don't know what to be for Halloween

Scotty: Ok well I'm going to be milk

Alex: I'm going to be an apple watch

Zane: David are you lurking again?

David: Maybe

Liza: GUYS HELP!

Gabbie: I'm going to be a social butterfly.

Carly: I'm going to be a zombie

Erin: Same as Carly

Zane: Pirate

David: I have no idea what I'm going to be

Gabbie: Ok Liza and David need to go to the Halloween store and figure their costumes out.

Liza: You guys are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO helpful

Carly: IKR!

Erin: Yeah we rock

Liza: Sarcasm intended

Scotty: Well can I leave now?

Zane: Alex is long gone

Erin: Gtg do homework :R

Carly: what does :R mean?

Erin: My face while doing homework aka annoyed 

Carly: Ok

Erin: bye

Gabbie: bye

Carly: the other boys are gone

Liza: bye

David: bye

I get off the group chat and text David.

Liza: Want to go Halloween shopping?

David: Yeah sure. I will walk down to your house

Liza: k

I get my small backpack ready, and I sit by the door. 

Leila: "Are you going somewhere?"

Liza: "Out with David."

Leila: "Ok well don't spend too much money."

Liza: "I won't."

Leila: "Ok, Ok. Bye sweety."

Liza: "Bye mom."

I sit by the front door and wait. 

*Knock knock*

I get up with a smile on my face. I open the door to see David smiling back.

Liza: "Hey."

David: "Ready to go?"

Liza: "Yeah sure."

I step outside and close the door.

Liza: "Ok which store should we go to?"

David: "Well I'm thinking a Halloween store."

He starts laughing, and I push his arm a little bit.

Liza: "Not what I meant."

David: "Maybe that big one on 4th street?

Liza: "Off to 4th then!"

I point in the direction of 4th street, and David laughs. I turn and smile.

Liza: "Why are you always laughing?"

David: "First of all, I only laugh this much around you. And that's because you are really funny."

Liza: "Well I can't help that."

He laughs again and so do I.

(A few blocks later)

David: "And here we are."

We walk in and things start jumping out at us. I hide my head in David's arm. 

David: "Liza, it's ok. They aren't going to hurt you."

Suddenly a sales person comes up to us.

Salesperson: "Do you guys need help to find something?"

David: "Yeah we both need Halloween costumes."

Sales person: "Ok well do you guys know what you want to be?"

Liza: "No."

Sales person: "Ok well all of the premade costumes are on that wall, and all of the build your own are on that wall."

David: "Ok thanks."

Liza: "I'm going to look at the build your own costumes."

David nods and I walk off. I scan through the shelves until I pick out what I want. David walks over to me.

David: "Did you pick something out yet?"

Liza: "Yeah I am going to be a cereal killer!"

David starts laughing 

David: "Sounds good! I'm going to be a vampire"

We pick everything out and walk over to the cash register. 

Cashier: "That will be $28.47"

Liza: "oh that's supposed to be two different bills"

David: "No Liza. I will pay"

David pays and I feel really bad. 

Cashier: "Have a nice day"

We walk out of the store.

Liza: "Here is the money for my costume"

I hand him some money.

David: "No. Liza I told you. I'm paying"

He pushes the money back to me. I smile and take the bag out of his hands.

Liza: "Well thank you"

David: "Don't mention it"
