With a crack, I appeared in the office. Nothing seemed to have changed. It was still a mess, but knowing what I know now. Things started to make sense.

The photo's were ripped off the wall to hide the fact that a different person owned it. The lights came on because they were automatic, the door came open because the butler let us in.

The Butler!

I sprinted to the kitchen, it was oddly quiet. The only sound was my hurried footsteps.

The now cold breakfast sat on the table, untouched. Everyone's things sat there beside chairs that were pulled out.

A low deep and evil laugh came from behind me. In a voice that I recognized,

"You're too clever for your own good, Aaron."

"Hello Bartholdi, or what should I say, is that you're real name?"

I didn't turn around to look at him, my eyes were on a large purple broadsword hung on the wall, I just had to figure out how to get to it.

"No, But I think you've found out enough."

I felt him move closer, a long black arm flashed on my right.

"Where are they?" I asked calmly, taking him aback a little.

"Who, Oh, your friends. Well, they made a fine meal for me. Especially the cute one, oh she put up quite a fight...."

Before he could say another word I leaped for the sword, grabbing it by the hilt and holding it in front of me. It felt familiar, like I had held this sword before.

He- it, was just a deformed black conglomerate of sludge and garbage. It seemed like this is what was effecting the wildlife.

It was then the words he said hit me.

"Y-you what.....?" I was shaking in anger, the white hot rage boiled up into my throat. I felt hot tears run off my face. My teeth sharpened and my ears popped out, My tail appeared.

"Aw, is little wolf angry. There gone, and unless you can magically get them out of my stomach in hmmm... five minutes, they'll be gone forever."

The black envelope shook in my pocket, it buzzed. The sword started to shake, and glow, and then shine so brightly it was blinding.

It was burning through my gloves, but I did not let go. Then with a sound that could have killed an elephant. Something erupted from the end of the sword.

A younger version on the man in the envelope, stood in front of me, the sword in his hands an exact copy of the one in mine. He smiled charmingly at me, winked, and then returned into the sword.

Apparently, the monster in front of me did not see this apparition, because he had started to advance.

With agility I did not know I had, I leaped over it, landing softly on the other side. Scanning for a weak spot, I found it, right at the top of its "head".

"Oh, let's see if Shads little grandson can live up to his name." It gargled, it's sludge popping in bubbles.

With a smirk, I held up my sword. Taunting the creature to attack. I felt almost free, I loved this too much.

It lunged forward, and I took my chance to slash my sword, it went through the creature like a hot knife through butter.

I looked back, expecting to see my friends laying on the floor, instead the creature regenerated itself. Smiling evilly at me.
