Chapter 12 ~ Let the Words Slip Out

Friday morning came quickly. For a moment I woke up and forgot what Leo said last night and just like that it was playing over and over in my head.

I returned to school. I couldn't focus. I sat down and there he came. Strolling in and looked at me. He waved and I waved back. How do I un-fall in love with him?

Classes flew by so fast, I didn't pay attention to anything the teachers said. I then saw Christian walk to Leo, Christian was asking him something, then Christian looked at me and walked over.

"So Mr. Writer, we'll discuss the play at lunch?", he asks.

"Oh... Umm... I can't today. I'm not feeling very well. Can we do it tomorrow at the library?", I ask

"Oh... Are you okay Josh? Did something happen between you and Leo?", he asks

"Naw... Nothing happened", I smile

"There's something I need to talk to you about", he says.

"Sure. Go ahead", I say

"Someone asked me out on a date, his name is Matthew, he's from another class", he says

"Oh. Congratulations. That's amazing", I smile

"Yeah. We're going this afternoon. He's gonna take me out. I'm so excited", Christian says

Christian then blushes. I'm happy for him and jealous at the same time. I wish I could ask Leo out on a date.

School was then over. I can't even remember what happened at school today. All I did today was overthink.

I walked home alone. It was a boring afternoon.

Time flew as I sat on the couch it was now 7 PM.

I then hear a knock on the door. I open it to find Leo.

"Leo!", I said with a shocked look on my face.

"We need to talk Josh, can I come in", he asks

"Sure come on in", I reply.

"Sit Josh", he says

I do as he says. We both sit on the couch.

"What's wrong", I ask

"I know we covered this yesterday but I owe you an explanation", he says

"Oh?", I ask

"I didn't plan to fall in love with you. You can't fall in love with someone at first sight but somehow I did. I've been in love once before. I know the feeling and somehow I feel that with you. I haven't known you for that long but that's the feeling I get when I'm with you", he explains

"You... You love me?", I ask puzzled

"I can't deny my feelings for you. Maybe I'm in love with your kindness but all I know is when I'm with you, I forget everything and enjoy life again, I'm... A little unstable and emotions are sometimes a roller coaster ride but with you in my life, I don't think I'll ever have to worry about that anymore. If you'll let me.. I'd like to more than friends", he says

"Yes", I quickly respond

"Um. That was quick", he says laughing.

"Sorry. I'm weird", I smile

And just like that, I kissed him.

"Let a new journey begin. A brand new story", I say to him

"I can tell gonna be a great journey. I'm sorry about last night", he says

"It's fine. All that matters is now", I smile

His phone then started ringing. He picked it up, looked at the screen, and put it down. As it stopped ringing I then remembered that day we were in the locker room...

"Leo... When we were in the locker room I noticed... There was a guy as your wallpaper... Was he your first love?", I ask

"Oh. Alexander? Oh no. He's my brother. He died last year", he says

"Oh god... My condolences. I'm sorry", I said as my eyes widened.

He then smiles and kisses me. Our nose touched and I then rubbed our noses together. My head on his head. My nose on his. At that moment I knew. I was going to be so happy with Leo. I'll protect him from this cruel world.

"Can I lay on your couch and watch tv a little? I don't have a tv and I don't wanna go back to my room", he asks.

"Yes. You can rest your head on my lap", I smile.

He switched the tv on. In some weird fate moment, there was a movie going on called "The Notebook", surely y'all have heard of it? I was never a fan of the movie but somehow Leo was. He rests his head on my lap, I then started playing with his hair.

"That feels really nice", he blushed

"Haha does it? Little puppy", I laugh

"Whaa... I'm a puppy?", he asks

"Yes. A little adorable puppy", I smile

"Well, since you said adorable, ill let you off the hook", he jokes.

His hair was so soft. Playing with his hair relaxed me for some reason. After a few moments and he fell asleep.

I then woke him up

"Leo. Don't fall asleep here. You'll be uncomfortable", I say

"Ooh. I fell asleep", he says rising up.

"Yes, pretty quickly. Why don't you stay the night?", I ask

"Okay but only if you play with my hair", he smiles

We then headed to my bed. I lay down and out of nowhere comes Leo jumping on top of me hugging me. I then smiled and held him so tight. He was squishing me thou but I didn't complain. As promised I played with his hair and he quickly fell asleep.

The day was terrible but the night was amazing. These cute moments were something that I've always wanted and now that I have it, it's like all the little pieces are coming together to form a perfect heart.
