I was typing some information on the computer when I received a call. Without seeing who called, I answered.

"Hello?" I answered the call, eyes still on the computer.

"Hello? Mrs Gupta?" Anand replied.

"Anand? What's wrong?" I asked, flipping through the papers in the file.

"Are you in the office?" Anand asked.

"Of course." I said.

"Busy?" Anand asked.

"Yeah. Keying in some important information." I said.

"Can you be done in 5 minutes?" Anand asked.

"But why?" I asked.

"Because I'm reaching your office in 5." Anand said.

"What? But why?" I asked, feeling shocked.

"I want to pick you up!" Anand said.

"Call me when you reach." I said.

"Okay, bye!" Anand said and hanged up.

I placed my phone down and did some last check-ups.

~ Anand's POV ~

A few minutes later, I arrived downstairs. I decided to surprise Nimmi with a bouquet. Maybe, we could ease into the 'I love you' incident last night.

As I locked my car and climbed the stairs, I received a call.

"Diana Calling..."

I rejected the call and went to press the lift button.

~ Nimmi's POV ~

There was a knock on my door.

"Yes, come in!" I said.

"Miss Khanna, your husband is here. He wants you to pack up now." The secretary said.

"Now?" I asked shocked.

"Yes." The secretary said.

"Ok thank you!" I said and I started packing my stuff.

I walked to the reception table and saw Anand sitting there.

"Anand, you told me you'll be waiting downstairs." I said softly.

"What's wrong in giving a wife a surprise?" Anand said, taking out the bouquet.

"Anand, what's the occasion? It's not my birthday to receive flowers." I said.

"Is it wrong to give his own wife flowers?" Anand asked.

I gave a shy smile and took it.

"Thank you Mr Gupta." I said.

"Let's go?" Anand asked, straightening his jacket and sticking his arm out.

I took his arm and nodded. As we left my office, we bumped into Sunil.

"Hi Nimmi. Your husband?" Sunil asked.

"Anand Gupta. Boss of the Gupta's holdings." Anand said, sticking his hand out for a handshake.

"Sunil Grover. Just a clerk, nothing much. It's nice to  finally meet you." Sunil said, accepting his handshake.

"You know my wife?" Anand asked, placing his arms around my shoulder.

"Of course! We were in the same college and University. We've been best friends since." Sunil said.

"That's nice to hear." Anand said.

"I have to go, gotta grab dinner. See you soon. Bye Anand. Bye Nimmi." Sunil said and left.

"Best friends?" Anand asked.

"Come on Anand, we're just friends." I said.

"I hope so." Anand said and I rolled my eyes.

"Can we go now?" I asked.

Anand nodded and wrapped his hands around my waist, leading me to the car.

It was nighttime and I was finishing up my noodles.

"I'll go to bed first, I have to turn in early tomorrow." Anand said.

I nodded and smiled as Anand gave a peck on my forehead.

"Good night." I said as he walked away. I turned back to finish my noodles.

I got a call.

"Who'd be calling this late?" I asked myself. I looked at the lit screen and d I didn't recognise the number.

"Hello?" I answered the call.

"Yes, I am the boss of Khanna Holdings." I answered.

"What?" I asked shocked.

"But–" I tried to say but was cut off.

"Yes. Okay. Yeah. Bye." I said and cut the call. I was shocked.

"This should not be happening." I thought to myself. I went to wash the dishes and went to bed.
