Learning to live: not so much of a shock

"Gale, what what are you doing here?" I couldn't even form words properly I hadn't seen him since our conversation before i was supposed to kill snow but killed president coin instead.

"Me an Johanna are together, an I needed to talk to you" gale spoke like nothing ever happened.

Peeta spoke next.

"Congratulations, are you staying with us or Annie?" Peeta didn't seemed fazed by gale's presence that's what I loved about peeta, he didn't judge an he let me make my own decisions.

"Ermm maybe one night here one night at Annie's?" Johanna looked at gale aiming the question at him.

"Sure" he smiled kissing Johanna on the head. I was glad he was happy, glad he moved on, he deserved to have the love I have with peeta, somebody who could love him back. And I could see by the way he looked at Johanna he did love her, an the spark in Johanna's eyes had returned.

"I'm glad you're here, I wanted to call you but I just, I just didn't know what to say" my voice trailed off and I felt peeta's warmth on my back.

"I know" gales put his head down. "I know" he whispered.

"Anyway, I know none of us can forget about what happened, but we can move on, so lets have a drink an catch up?" Peeta spoke to all of us.

"Sure mellark" gale warmly smiled at peeta, maybe everything would be okay?.

"Well I for one need a drink!" Johanna waltzed off to the kitchen, gale laughing following behind.

"You okay Kat?" Peeta asked embracing me in a strong hug.

"Actually yeah" i smiled.

"Children we are here" haymitch called.

"What the fuck" peeta asked laughing.

"Manners manners peeta" same old Effie.

"I've heard enough from your potty mouth boy! Especially last night you really do need to start closing your windows, an maybe slow down it sounds like you're killing the poor girl"

"Haymitch!" Effie smacked haymitch's arm.

"Yeah well at least I can get a woman goin"

"More like screaming for dear life"

"Exactly" peeta laughed

"Peeta stop it" I couldn't help but Laugh, he really was good in bed.

as the night went on more guest arrived,

"Should we tell them?" Peeta asked.

"Yeah, most of them are drunk so I don't know if they will remember in the morning" i laughed.

"Me included" peeta joked, he did have a lot to drink though.

"Like you could forget" I winked raising my eyebrows

"So erm how long till everyone gets out of here?" He laughed

"Peeta stop it!"

"Come on let's tell everyone now"

Peeta turned the music down,

"Everyone, me an Kat just want to thank you all for coming, I don't think we would be here today if it wasn't for most of you in this room, Johanna, haymitch, Annie, Pollux, gale an so many more of you. What hurts us the most is that even more people we love can't be here today sharing this moment. So thank you for bringing me an the woman I've loved from being 5 years old together, she finally said yes! After 16 years, 2 hunger games an a rebellion she agreed to marry me".

Peeta grabbed my hand an squoze it tightly, everybody had different reactions a few shocked faces, a few gasps a few "I knew it"s.

Annie an Johanna rushed over.

"I can't not believe you didn't tell me!" Annie squeaked, "let me see it!" She handed Luca to peeta who rested his head on his shoulder.

I took the ring from my pocket placing it back on my finger.

"That's gorgeous peeta" Annie gasped.

"Well done mockingjay" Johanna smirked.

An I was too happy to even make A come back, I had all my family back. They wasn't my blood family but MY family, we were all broken an fucked up in our own many, many ways. We had all been hurt so many times we couldn't count. But maybe now we could be happy, maybe not fully happy but one day. After the rebellion has died down, an our losses get easier to handle. None of us can ever forget our losses or the losses we have caused others.
