Hermione and I went to the Library to return books when we were joined by Harry. He told us about a conversation he had with Ron earlier that day. Hermione had replied quite angrily.

"He's at perfect liberty to kiss whomever he likes," she said very loudly as she placed the book in mid-air, allowing it to rise to the shelf by itself. "I really couldn't care less." She was drawing lots of attention to herself. We walked to the next aisle. I placed my book in the air as well, watching as it floated to its place in the shelves.

"Was I under the impression he and I would be attending Slughorn's Christmas party together? Yes. Now, given the circumstances, I had to make other arrangements."

"Have you?" Harry asked.

"Yes. Why?"

"Well, I just thought seeing is not the risk at going with who we'd really like to, We should go together, as friends." he explained.

"Why didn't I think of that?"

"Who are you going with?" I asked

"Um, it's a surprise," she replied.

"Anyways, Harry," I turned to him, "Now that I know you don't have someone to go with to the party, I would love to go with you as friends. But I must say you can't take just anyone. You see that girl over there?" I jerked my head one way to a girl sitting at a desk. Moving my body so Harry could look at her easily. "That's Romilda Vane."

"Harry, we've heard apparently she's been trying to smuggle you a love potion," explained Hermione.

"Really?" he seemed amazed looking at her.

Hermione snapped her fingers in front of Harry's face. "Hey! She's only interested in you because she thinks you're the Chosen One."

"But I am the Chosen One," Harry said cockily.

Hermione took the parchment in her hands to smack Harry down the face. He cringed. I laughed.

"Okay, sorry, um... Kidding. Anyways I'd be more than glad to go to the party with you Hazel."

"Cool. Meet me by the Gryffindor tower 10 minutes before it starts."

. . .

On the day of the party, I wore a simple red dress with a belt, that was lacy, with some black boots. I carried a black clutch with me as well, and my hair was done with a braid crowning my head. I had on light makeup with nothing too extravagant.

I waited for Harry at the bottom the tower. He was wearing nice dress robes for the occasion. When he made it to where I was standing, I said, "You look very dapper, Mr. Potter."

"And you're as stunning as ever, Miss. Rosewood," he replied.

Together, we laughed and made our way down the corridor, side by side. The hall was lit with beautiful lanterns for the Christmas season. As I walked my heels made a clicking sound against the stone. I loved it. (A/N: Who else loves the sound of their shoes? *raises hand*)

Harry and I entered into the Christmas Party. We were immediately welcomed by Slughorn who asked for our pictures. I went first. Slughorn and I stood next to each other, his hand on my back and we smiled at the camera for a picture. There was a flash, causing me to blink. Then, Harry and I switched places. After his picture had been taken, we talked with Slughorn for less than a minute before he had to go and greet other guests.

"Drink?" a voice behind us asked. We turned around.

"Neville!" I exclaimed. He was wearing a white waiter's uniform and was holding out a tray of drinks.
