A grim reaper comes into being as punishment for committing great sins in their past incarnations. Aganee—who prefers to be called Aggie so that they don't butcher the pronunciation of her name—is a grim reaper who can see into people's past life by touching their hand, had done a terrible sin and created a reaper out of it.

As a city that was built by death and is covered in more blood than any other city in the world, New Orleans was the place where Aggie was sent, carrying soul after soul to their belonged place. What she never expected was to see the family that had a foot in the world of the living and the other in the world of the dead, souls that were too stubborn to actually die.

Although a grim reaper cannot meddle in the world of the living, Aggie can't help but feel connected to the members of the Mikaelson family.

A grim reaper is neither alive or dead, but just existing, so Aggie will speak monotone until she starts to feel emotions towards the Original. She moves out of the way whenever someone is too close to her or leans in to touch her, because she doesn't want to see people's past life unless it is completely necessary. The great sin she committed to become a reaper was taking her own life; you can come up with why and how.
