Part XIII

Mariana's POV- February 2016

"So how are you?"

I looked at Jake and nodded.

"I'm good" I answered.

"Are you adjusting to the semester?"

"It's a lot slower than the quarter system" I told him.

He smiled.

"You miss the fast pace?"

"Not really, but I was usually done with my first set of midterms by now" I answered.

"So are you seeing that blonde?"

Well that was a jump on topics.

"Yes" I said.

Jake needed to take a hint and I hope this would tell him to fuck off.

"Lucky guy, hope he treats you well"

I bit the inside of my cheek as awkward silence filled the room.

"So I should head out" I began saying.

"Where are you going?"

"I'm going to take some photographs of the city" I told him.

"Do you mind company?"

"I'm actually going with my boyfriend" I said.

His jaw tensed a bit and he nodded.

"I personally don't think it's smart of you to be going out with an athlete"

So he knew who Will was.

"I'm old enough to decide what I want to do with my life" I stated.

I smiled.

"Thank you for your opinion though" I told him.

I stood up and bit the inside of my cheek as he blocked the door.

"Wait, I didn't mean it that way"

"Move, or I will scream" I warned.

"Just be careful ok?"

With that he moved out of the way and opened the door. I walked out of his room and pulled  my phone out of my pocket when I felt it vibrate. I opened the door to my room and smiled at Ellie who let out a sigh of relief.

"You were right, he is a creep"

"Thank you" I told her.

I grabbed my jacket and looked down at my phone that began vibrating again.

"Is it Mr. Nylander?"

I looked at Ellie and laughed.

"You're so weird" I said.

I answered the call as she frowned.

"Hello" I greeted.

"Hey, so I'm on my way"

"I'm almost done getting ready" I informed him.

"Ok, uhh good news or bad news?"

"Bad" I chose.

"Kappy is with me"

"Good?" I asked.

"You can bring your roommate?"

I looked at Ellie.

"Are you doing anything tonight?" I asked.

She laughed.

"She can join" I said as she stood up.

"Alright, I'll be there in 5"

"See you then" I told him.
