Part LI

William's POV- January 2017

I turned to Mariana who set her fork down and looked towards the living room as the doorbell rang.

"Were you expecting someone?" I asked.

"No"

She stood up and I watched as Babe, her small pup followed her to the door. 

"Babe, we talked about this. Distance so I won't step on you"

Mariana unlocked the door and stepped back as she opened the door.

"Hi, hi"

She leaned forward and pulled the person into a hug.

"I thought I was going to pick you up" 

She let go of the person and I was able to recognize her.

"You were, but I got hungry and I didn't want to eat at the dining hall. I sent you a text that I was on my way"

Mariana's soon to be step sister was much smaller than I had thought. She had to be no taller than 5'1.

"Did you just get up?"

Mariana nodded as she closed the door.

"Yeah, about an hour ago"

It wasn't that late, it was almost noon.

"Is your boyfriend awake?"

She looked up and smiled when she noticed me.

"Are all Swedish men handsome?"

I chuckled as the petite girl made her way over.

"Hi, I'm Sophia"

I shook her hand and she glanced at my plate.

"William" I introduced.

"Do you still have bacon?"

Mariana nodded and Sophia turned to look at me.

"It's nice to meet you, I'm just hungry"

I nodded and looked at Mariana as Sophia walked into the kitchen.

"I didn't get to talk to you after the meet"

Mariana nodded and reached for her phone. She had two unread texts from Sophia and a couple from her dad and Esme.

"What did you think?"

I watched as Mariana shook her head and smiled.

"You nearly gave me a heart attack!"

Sophia laughed behind me and I turned to look at her. 

"Hey now! I saved myself from falling"

I looked down when I felt a light tap on my leg.

"Babe, go to the living room"

The small dog ran away to the living room and I looked at Mariana.

"He's an obedient little dog" I stated.

She nodded and sat across from me. I continued eating and I smiled at Sophia when she sat down next to me once she cooked herself breakfast.

"Are you excited to meet Enzo?"

I looked at Mariana who smiled.

"Soph calls dad Enzo"

I nodded.

"So are you?"

I smiled as Sophia threw her head back as she laughed.

"You shouldn't be nervous, he's harmless"

"I've heard different from your boyfriend" I replied.

She smiled.

"Don't tell him this, but Enzo actually likes him. He just likes watching Adrian squirm"

I chuckled and she shrugged.

"Enzo is excited to meet you, I have a feeling you two will get along"

"I hope so" I confessed.

She lightly tapped my shoulder.

"George gave in a real good word for you, and speaking of George is he going to be at dinner?"

Mariana shook her head.

"He's got a date"

I watched as Sophia pursed her mouth and nodded. She smiled and I chuckled as she stuffed a piece of her omelette in her mouth as she shrugged.

"You plea the fifth?" I asked.

She nodded and looked at Mariana as she covered her mouth with her hand.

"I like him"
