Part XL

William's POV- December 2016

I could have been having breakfast with the guys but I chose to stay in and take a nap. I was exhausted after practice, so I had some cereal and I was supposed to go to bed. Instead I was stalking Mariana's Instagram. I looked at a picture of Mariana and couldn't help but stare at the logo on the hoodie she was wearing. This had been taken a few days after Mariana had banished from my life, and what killed me was that smile on her face seemed genuine. It was captioned,

MissMariana: First day of work and I get a cool jacket. Incredibly honored to be able to be interning for the LA Kings AHL affiliate, the Ontario Reign #ReignTrain

The next picture was of her, and George hugging a small blonde.

MissMariana: Never got to formally introduce my soon to be sister Sophia. You've been my sister since I first met you glad to know it's going to be official soon. 

I felt my gut twist when I recognized someone from the group picture that Mariana had posted at the end of the month of May. She was standing in the middle of a group of guys and the picture was captioned.

MissMariana: Incredibly honored to be working for the Ontario Reign in their Communications department. A big thank you to these group of incredibly talented young men who welcomed me to their family after knowing me for less than a month. I look forward to a great season and long playoff run with them.

I met Adrian Kempe when I played for the Swedish Hockey League. I considered him a close friend, but I don't think he thought of me as a friend. The next picture on her profile was of him, sticking out his tongue from the window. it was captioned,

MissMariana: I can't seem to get away from this Swede #GoAway #StopFollowingMe

He had commented on the picture,

Excuse me but it was you who followed me home

She replied,

Don't flatter yourself darling, we both know that it's the way to my dad's house. Why you so obsessed with me Michael? Soph is in school, so you're wasting your time.

The conversation ended with an emoji from him,

She posted a selfie holding a "I Voted" sticker.

MissMariana: Today is Super Tuesday, if you live in California and are a registered voter please exercise your right and vote. I personally #FeelTheBern, what about you? 

The following picture was of George and the small brunette. They were both wearing Dodger jerseys and making silly faces.

MissMariana: Treated Georgie and Sophie to a baseball game #ITFDB

Mariana was pretending to toss her cap in the following picture,

There was a picture of Mariana hugging someone who I assumed was her father,

MissMariana: I wouldn't be the person I am today without you dad. I love you so much, Happy Father's Day. No sería la persona que soy hoy sin ti papá. Te quiero mucho, Feliz Día del Padre.

She didn't post the month of July, but she did post in August. It was a picture of her holding a small weenier dog captioned,

MissMariana: Thanks dad ❤️ #BabeRuth
