Part XVIII

Mariana's POV- February 2016

"I need to use the bathroom like real bad"

"Can't you hold it?" I asked.

Ellie shook her head, so much for that promise.

"I'll try to make it back quick"

I nodded and watched as she walked away. I looked up as a throat was cleared to see a very gorgeous blonde.

"William forgot to mention how beautiful you are"

I smiled at Will's mom, Camila. His mom was stunning, and incredibly kind. 

"He always talks about you, it's cute to see my son this interested in a girl"

I felt a knot in my stomach.

"You don't understand how thankful I am that he crossed paths with you. Not many people help strangers now a days. He shouldn't have been out, but I'm glad you were able to pull him out of harms way"

"You don't need to thank me, I was just trying to help" I said.

"I'm just glad he has someone to distract him from hockey. The fans can be a little overwhelming, and I'm glad he's not alone"

She reached for my hand and squeezed it gently.

"Thank you"

I nodded when I realized I couldn't speak. there was literally a voice in my head screaming, AHHHHHHHHHHHH.

"I'm back!"

Ellie smiled.

"Is William still not out yet?"

I shook my head and Michael chuckled.

"He's probably staring at himself in the mirror"

I smiled and turned my attention to the locker room doors when they opened. Will walked out of the room and smiled when he spotted us.

"Sorry I took so long, the media was waiting for me"

His hair was still damp from his shower.

"I was thinking we could grab some dinner"

Will glanced at his dad and then looked at me.

"Did you finish your homework?"

I shook my head.

"Ellie and I should probably get going" I stated.

Michael frowned a bit.

"It's late and I have class early in the morning. I've got some reading I need to catch up on" I explained.

Camila smiled and nodded.

"Of course, school comes first"

Michael nodded agreeing with his wife.

"Do you two have a way of getting home?"

I nodded.

"Ellie drove here" I replied.

"I'll walk you guys out"

"Of course" I said.

"I hope to see you more often"

Will reached for my hand and gently squeezed it as we followed Ellie out. Once we were out of his parent's sight he looked at me.

"I'll make it up to you"

"It's ok" I told him.

He let go of my hand and opened the passenger door for me.

"I actually want to talk to you about something, but we can talk about that when I get back from DC"

"Sounds good" I said.

He smiled and pecked my lips.

"I'll text you"

I nodded and he kissed my cheek once I was sitting on the passenger seat.

"I'll see you around Ellie"

She smiled.

"Thank you for the ticket, and congrats on your debut" 

He smiled at her as he closed the door.

"Drive safe"

She nodded and with that he walked away. Once he was out of sight I groaned and closed my eyes.

"Looks like Nylander wants to label this relationship"

I sighed.

"You act like it would be bad to have William Nylander as a boyfriend"

"I'm only here until May, I shouldn't exactly be getting in a relationship when I know I'm leaving" I said.

"You know there's a thing called long distance"

"I know there is, but why agree with not labeling this when you're going to change your mind" I told her.

"I don't think he meant to change his mind Mari"
