Mariana's POV- December 2016

"It's alright, we just landed and we still need to get our bags"

I kept my pace slow so that I could walk next to Esmeralda.

"Ok, see you then. I love you too, bye"

She ended the call and turned to me.

"They're running a bit late"

I nodded and stuffed my hands into my coat pockets.

"Ok" I told her.

George and I got into a huge argument last night, and we weren't speaking to each other at the moment. I ended up taking an Uber to the airport because George never showed up. To top it all of, I had Esmeralda staring at me for 6 hours trying to read me. She tried to start conversations with me, but I gave her simple answers.

"Are you ok?"

"I'm fine" I replied.

We made our way to the baggage claim part of the airport and I took a seat.

"Who gave you a ride this morning?"

"I call an Uber" I answered.

I pushed my hair back befor adjusting my glasses.

"Siblings fight all the time Mari"

I shrugged and stood up when I noticed the suitcases were coming out of the luggage carousel.

"Let's get our luggage" I told her.

She followed me to the carousel and once we both got our suitcases she turned to look at me.

"Why don't you like Jo?"

I chose not to ignore her and instead looked at her.

"I don't like the way she treats George" I stated

"What do you mean?"

"She isn't attracted to George, she just keeps him around because she likes the attention he gives her" I replied.

"Why do you say that?"

"Have you ever noticed that the only time she shows he's interested is when he's seeing or getting to know someone" I pointed out.

She looked at me.

"I have noticed that, and I hope she doesn't break his heart. Our job is to just be there for him and hope that date goes well"

I shrugged lightly, George had asked Jordyn out and she said yes. I told George I didn't like Jordyn and that he was stupid to even ask her out. He told me I should mind my own business and worry about my relationship with William.

"She's my friend, but George is my best friend"

She squeezed my shoulder.

"I've never gotten into an argument with George" I confessed to her.

"Really?"

I nodded.

"Incase you didn't realize, I avoid conflict" I told her.

She nodded.

"Are your parents excited to meet William?"

"My mom isn't going to meet him because she's going to be out of town, but my dad is really excited" I replied.

She smiled.

"That's good, I'm sure you and George will work things out"

"I don't think I've ever gone this long without talking to him" I stated.
