Part XXVII

Mariana's POV- April 2016

I was lightly bobbing my head along to the music playing when I felt a light tug on my arm. I looked at Ellie who smiled at me.

"Dance with me?"

I raised an eyebrow and looked for Kasperi (who asked her to come) to see that he was talking with a pretty brunette.

"Yeah, of course" I said.

I lightly nudged Will and he looked at me.

"Ellie wants to dance" I told him.

He raised an eyebrow and looked for Kasperi. 

"Are you serious?"

To celebrate the Marlies sweeping the Islanders AHL affiliate, the Sound Tigers the guys decided to go clubbing. I agreed to come since it was a Friday night, and I could study all day tomorrow and Sunday (well not all of Sunday since it was Will's birthday). Will had invited both Ellie and I, and Ellie first declined. Kasperi then told her that it would mean a lot to him if she came which is why she came. 

"I'll talk with him"

Ellie shook her head.

"Let's just make the most of the night"

Will nodded and stood up so we could slide out of the booth. 

"I'll keep an eye on you two"

I smiled and accepted the kiss he was leaning in for.

"We'll be back" I said.

I followed Ellie and smiled at her as Booty began playing. 

"Fuck him Ellie, just have fun" I told her.

She nodded and I smiled as she began singing along. 

"No homo as the guys say it but your ass looks amazing"

I laughed and began swaying my hips along to the song. We danced another two songs before I was pulled against someone. Will laughed when he saw Ellie was about to defend my honor.

"You scared me!"

Will put his head on my shoulder as he continued laughing.

"I'm sorry! But that was hilarious!"

He let go of me and stood up straight.

"Mind if I steal her for 1 song?"

Ellie smiled and nodded.

"I'm going to sit down, my feet are killing me"

We watched as she left and once she was sitting down Will looked at me and smiled. I laughed as he began to mouth the song playing. He grinned as I sang along the song and grabbed his hands. I placed them on my hips and smiled when he pulled me closer to him. We both pulled away when Ellie interrupted us 2 songs later.

"I'm going to head out"

Will raised an eyebrow.

"Why?"

She smiled.

"It's late"

Will looked at his iWatch and nodded when he saw it was 1AM.

"I should probably go with her" I said.

He frowned but nodded soon after.

"You can't spend the night? I'll drop you off tomorrow morning"

I smiled.

"Pick me up tomorrow morning and we can go out for breakfast" I told him.

He nodded.

"Let me walk you guys out"

I followed him and Ellie back to the table where Kasperi was making out with a girl. I reached over and "accidentally" bumped both their heads.

"Sorry, I can't reach over my purse" I said.

Kasperi wiped his mouth as the girl handed me my purse.

"Thank you" I replied to her.

She smiled and me and I stood up straight.

"I love your dress" I commented.

"Thank you! Your hair looks like you just did it"

I smiled.

"On second thought, I think we're heading out too"

I smiled at Viktor and Nikita who followed us out. Kasperi stayed back claiming he'd see them tomorrow. Once we were inside Ellie's car I looked at her.

"I'm fine, it was stupid to think I had a chance with him"

"You act like you don't have Jeff" I stated.

She smiled.

"He's been busy"

I nodded.

"What Kasperi did was incredibly rude and he will apologize to you" I told her.

She shook her head and turned on the car.

"Just drop it Marian, please?"

We stared at each other and I nodded.

"I could drop you off at William's apartment if you want"

"Nonsense, I'm going back to campus with you. I'll see him tomorrow, I want to spend time with you" I said.

She smiled and sniffled.

"I'm not crying over Kasperi. I'm just really going to miss you"

I smiled.

"You can always come visit me" I told her.

She nodded.

"I'll show up in LA one day"

"And I will show you everywhere just like you did with me here in Toronto" I stated.

"Do you really have to go back?"

"Sadly" I said.

She pouted a bit and sighed.

"You're the best"

I laughed.

"I expect a grad picture of you looking all sophisticated"

"Of course, I'll send you every pose" I told her.

She glanced at me.

"I'm taking your word for it"

"I'll try to make it to your graduation" I promised.

She still had a year left, and after that she was going to Med School.

"You're going to be a great medical examiner" I said.

"No one understands my love for death as much as you do"

"Esmeralda, George's friend; her mom is a Forensic Anthropologist who loved death as much as you do" I told her.

"Oh no, she loves it more. I've read journal articles published by her. She's like a genius of her own kind. She's who I hope to one day be"

I smiled.

"I'm sure you'll raise an Olympic Gold medalist one day" I joked.

She laughed.

"I wish, if I ever produce an offspring it will lack athleticism"
