Glimpse of Their Past

“Okay. Eto..Naalala nyo ba nung fifth year highschool tayo? Intrams noon tapos ni-lock natin sa isang room itong sina Des at Rob for hours! Doon sila nagkaaminan ng feelings sa isa’t isa di ba?” Greg said smirking. Nakita kong namula si Des and would you look at that!? The always composed Rob is blushing as well.

“Ang hina kasi nito ni couz, eh! Ang torpe! Kung hindi pa kami nakialam ay hindi pa ata aamin.” nang-aasar naman na sabi ni Hans kay Rob. The latter glared at Hans.

“Kung makapagsalita ka akala mo ay hindi ka natorpe kay Yan noon!” balik pang-aasar ni Rob sa pinsan nya.

“Sus! Nagturuan pa kayong magpinsan, pareho naman talaga kayong torpe! Lahi nyo ata!” biro naman sa dalawa ni Yan na ikinatawa naming lahat. “But seriously, guys. I never expected Rob and Des would end up together.” Sabi ulit nito ng iiling-iling pa.

“I know right?!” sang-ayon naman dito ni Carly.

“Bakit naman?” tanong ni Alcy.

“Alcy, kung makita mo lang sana sila noon. They were like cats and dogs. They fight a lot almost about everything but I always knew that Des has a huge crush on Rob.” Carly giggled while Des glared at her. “Now, I can see that they are getting along well. I have not heard them argue tonight. That must have been a record breaker, right?” tumawa ito at bumuntong hininga. “A lot sure has changed when I was away.” Malungkot na pahayag nito.

“Yeah.” Sa mababang tono na sabi ni Yan. “Just look at you! You are not wearing your overly thick glasses anymore and your famous braids.”

Carly chuckled. “I got tired of them so I had a make-over.”

“Anyway, meron akong biglang naalala.” Biglang singit ni Jake. “Remember when we were in freshmen tapos anniversary nina Max and Carly? Max surprised Carly by singing ‘Perfect Two’ in the middle of the soccer field. That was hella gay and embarrassing!” ani Jake ng natatawa.

Tumawa din ako, as in halakhak talaga! Imagine the ever poker faced – Max Iñigo – being extra sweet and singing his heart out in front of a crowd. Epic! I would give anything just to have witnessed that.

Naramdaman kong siniko ako ni Krizzy ng palihim. Napatigil naman ako ng mahalatang tahimik lang silang lahat at hindi na tumatawa. Oh shit! I shouldn’t have laughed that hard. Dapat pala ay bothered ako dahil sa sinabi ni Jake na past nila.

“E-ehem…I’m sorry. I kind of imagined MY Maxi doing that and I can’t help but laugh. He must have been so adorable while singing, right?” sabi ko sabay baling kay Carly. Nakita kong parang nailang si Carly sa akin. “Oh, don’t worry. Sinabi na sa akin ni Maxi. He doesn’t keep a secret from me. I know that you two had a past. Tsaka walang kaso sa akin iyon, after all, past na din naman yun right? Wala na kayo and what matters most is that he loves me now as much as I love him.” Sabi ko ng nakatingin at nakangiti kay Carly.
