She had slept in.

As she rushed to her Literature class, she kept hoping that her teacher hadn't come in yet. She didn't look forward to being questioned about her tardiness in front of the entire class.

She opened the door and was relieved to find that her wish had been granted - no teacher yet. She walked to the back of the class to her usual seat and found Gunner sitting in the seat beside hers.

Now, usually it was him who would walk up and sit down next to her but this time, the tables were reversed. She was the one making the decision now.

Her eyes flickered momentarily to another empty seat beside a girl and when Lamees looked back towards Gunner, their eyes met. He was waiting to see her decision.

She heard the teacher enter the room just then and hastily, sat down next to him. She tried not to look his way but couldn't help but catch the slight smirk on his face.
