She had managed to hide the second sandwich from her parents to avoid any nosy questions from them. Lamees walked to school even when her father offered to drop her off. She didn't want to prompt the bullies even more and they surely would make her life miserable if they saw that her daddy drove her to school every morning. Her scarf and her beliefs already were a target.

She herself had no interest in learning how to drive either as she didn't trust herself behind the wheel. So she walked every day and didn't really mind it. The weather was almost always pleasant in the mornings and she liked to hear the birds chirping. She would observe them as she walked and draw them in her mind.

Her mood quickly turned upside down when she neared the school building and was stopped by a bunch of girls when she was crossing the parking lot. These were the same girls who had teased her earlier and her stomach clenched when she saw them sneering.
