Vanoss and I got back to the apartment. We walked in and put our stuff down. I felt tired from the small adventure. I got the Tobramycin and an injection needle and took it to Delirious. When I walked in the room, Delirious quickly grabbed his mask and put it over his face. I was only able to see a glimpse of his face. He was wearing clown make up but he looked oddly familiar. I sighed.
"I got the antibiotics," I said, waving the bottle of medicine in the air. "I still need to clean your wound, Delirious." He just nodded.
I cleaned the wound and the needle before injecting him. Delirious seemed to relax a little. There was something about him that seemed familiar and I'm not talking about just his eyes reminding me of Sam's eyes. It was like l already knew him from before all this. I shrugged it off and left him alone.
I walked to the living room and sat on the couch. Everyone was either with Delirious or somewhere around the place. I took a deep breathe and closed my eyes for a while.
I started thinking of the events of what happened to me. I was kidnapped to save someone, I was locked in a room, and I went to steal medicine from the hospital where I worked.
"Tired?" I opened my eyes and saw Vanoss sit on the couch next to me. I nodded. He took his mask off. "Hopefully, you won't have to do that again," he said.
"Yeah..." I simply agreed. It was fun but I didn't want to make it a habit like this gang.
"That's how it all starts. We're criminals because we enjoy it but it's dangerous." I looked at him confusingly. "You break a rule and it feels great so you do it again and again and again until you take it too far." He looked ashamed. "Once you cross the line, there's no coming back from it..."
"What are you talking about?" I asked, confused. He sighed.
"Never mind. You should get something to eat and get some sleep," he said and got up to check on Delirious. I sighed trying to figure out what Vanoss was trying to tell me.
I went to the kitchen to grab something to eat but I wasn't feeling that hungry. There was practically a feast here. I just had a bowl of fruit. I went to my room and changed into my pajamas and brushed my teeth.
I just kept thinking of the moment when Vanoss was basically holding me. I could still feel the warmth of his chest on my back. I've never been that close to a guy before. I wasn't really into dating. I was always busy or just not interested.
David walked into my room, interrupting my thoughts.
"You could knock, David," I said.
"I did," he said giving me a weird look.
"Oh... Well, did you need something?" I asked.
"Just wanted to ask how it went with you and Vanoss."
"It was fine," I said as I thought of how close we were again. I got flustered and turned away from David.
"Are you okay?" he asked looking at me suspiciously.
"Yeah, just tired so if you don't mind I'd like to go to sleep now."
"Okay, I'll see ya in the mornin' then," David said and left my room.
I turned the lights off in my room and got into bed. And again the thought of Vanoss popped in my head. I groaned and grabbed my head. I tossed and turned in bed until I finally drifted off.
