I opened my eyes and only saw white. That's all I saw. I put my hands over my eyes to block the brightness.
Where am I?
I got up and looked around. It was an open white space that looked like it never ended.
What am I doing here?
There was a figure in the distance. I couldn't tell who it was. I was skeptical about walking closer but I did anyway. As I got closer, it started shaping into a feminine body.
Who is that?
I got closer and realized it was Sam. I felt relieved at the sight of her.
"Sam!" I ran over to her. "Where are we?" I asked. She didn't say anything. "Sam?"
"You really are the worst best friend someone can have," she said.
"What?" I was dumbfounded.
"You don't trust me. I tell you everything and you can't tell me what's going on in your life," she was glaring at me. "That's not what a true best friend does."
"No, that's not it..."
"It's been like that since we were kids. I'm done hearing more excuses," Sam then disappeared.
I dropped my head. Tears were threatening to come out of my eyes. When I looked up again, there was someone else.
"Jonathan?" He wasn't wearing his mask.
"That's it? You look like you just want to give up," he said.
"Maybe I do. My best friend hates me."
"What happened to you? You've become such a..."
"A what?"
"Never mind. This adult life doesn't suit you. You're better off alone," he then also disappeared.
There were another two figures in the distance. I didn't feel like going up to them afraid that they might tell me something I don't want to hear. Instead, they came walking towards me. I wanted to move back but I couldn't. It was like there was a wall.
"(Y/n), what's wrong with you?" The figures became more clear and it was my mom.
"Mom!" I said running to her. I hugged her looking for comfort. I looked to my right and saw my dad there. "What are you doing here?" I glared at him.
"He left me because of you," my mom said. "You ruined our marriage."
"What? Mom, no..."
"You're a disgrace. Of all the kids I get, I get you," My dad said. "You can't even protect yourself. You know why? Because you're weak."
"You have no right to say that to me!" I shouted as tears streamed down my face.
"You're a disappointment."
"I wish I didn't have you..." My mom said and disappeared.
'Why is this happening to me?'
"Jeez, is that all you do?" I looked up and saw Vanoss. "Every time, you just cry. Can't you do anything else than that?"
"Are you here to give me shit, too?" I asked as more tears rolled down my cheeks.
"Well, you don't have any pros except that you're a nurse but even then you couldn't be a doctor," he said.
"But I didn't want to be a doctor."
"Whatever, you'll never be above anyone, I guess. You'll always be bossed around. Sometimes I really just want to kill you cause you get really annoying."
"But you kidnapped me. And I saved Jonathan for you-"
"No. You saved Delirious for yourself. You wanted to live. You're selfish," Vanoss said. I shook my head profusely.
Hearing him say this to me hurt. Why is everyone being like this? What did I do wrong? I was on my knees crying my heart out.
"I never asked for any of this!" I shouted.
"Shut the fuck up, you annoying bitch," Vanoss spat. I sat there not knowing what to say. "How do we put up with you?" As he said that, his whole crew appeared behind him. Including Jonathan but this time he had his mask on.
"No... No more... Please, I've had enough..." I pleaded.
They all started laughing at me. I felt like I was getting smaller. Or they were getting bigger. I don't know. I didn't know what to do.
I curled myself into a ball. It had gone silent. I slowly looked back up. They were gone. I got up and looked around. There was no one. Tears continued to stream down my face.
Something inside me just wanted to scream. I was by myself anyway. I could do what I want. So I screamed. I screamed for what seemed like an eternity.
Everything slowly started getting dark. I stopped screaming and tried to keep my balance. Eventually, darkness consumed me.
