After spending a few hours of the evening practicing against Karasuno, the team was completely exhausted. They both departed, except for the few who lived close together.

"Daichi, aren't you the least bit anxious for nationals?" (F/n) muttered, adjusting her bag over her shoulder.

The male captain shrugged. "Sure I am. I think the entire team is anxious."

"Thank god. We're not the only ones." She whispered.

The rest of the walk was quiet, but not uncomfortable. When they departed, they waved goodbye to each other and wished each other luck for the games.

Oikawa procrastinated all weekend on his confession. Well, not exactly. He was only postponing it until the right moment.

He'd searched up on fancy ways to confess, or on how to talk to her, or on how to even control his feelings around her. It made his chest ache and his eyes water and his emotions get all scrambled.

To be honest, Oikawa was completely smitten for his best friends cousin. He found it absolutely awful but horribly enlightening, too.

He decided to take a brake, pushing his laptop to the side of his bed and picking up his volleyball off of the floor, just setting it lightly on his hands.

His phone buzzed for what seemed to be the millionth time that weekend. Oikawa had neglected texting the girl of his dreams just because of his feelings, which actually began giving him a headache from his lack of contact with the girl.

He let out a frustrated huff, giving up and placing his volleyball on his lap and staring up at the ceiling, ignoring the fact that the first snowflakes were falling and (F/n)'s rapid fire texts about them.

He wondered if she would give up trying to talk to him at some point, but he was proven wrong, as she texted him about her anxiety until midnight.

At some point, he eventually picked up his phone and began helping her through it, his chest puffing out with pride in himself as she thanked him.

-------------------------------------------------------

Oikawa was told by Tengan that (F/n) and the team would be gone fire three days. On the first day, they were unpacking and getting settled in to their hotel. On the second day was their match. On their third, they came back an hour after school.

He already began to miss her presence in the classroom, along with the other girls. It wasn't the same without Tengan and Iha's constant whispers or (F/n)'s scolding.

Or Arata answering questions like she'd memorized them straight from a text book, or Enomoto's boisterous attitude, or Hana's paper airplanes hovering into the recycling bin when the teacher didn't look.

But he mostly missed glancing over at (F/n) and fangirling over how pretty she was to whoever sat next to him at the time.

Lunch was slow and boring without the boys having to constantly watch their backs for the girls (especially Iha and Tengan goddamn). Or without (F/n)'s complaints about Hajime being taller than her and visibly more strong. (Trust Oikawa when he says she's actually the only one to beat Hajime at arm wrestling).

"Someone's a little lovesick." Makki commented when Oikawa crawled out a sigh, earning a glare. Makki put up his hands in surrender, and Matsun snickered.

-------------------------------------------------------

On Tuesday, most of the classes were just spent watching the National games. Oikawa's eyes constantly followed (F/n), and saw that the devious little team was exchanging hand signals.

Enomoto was, thankfully, back to being their libero, and Seki seemed to be trying to constantly one up her captain. Tengan and Iha were impossible to beat. Arata looked calm the entire time while Hana looked like she was internally screaming.

Yada seemed to be trying to pick a fight with every single player on the other side of the net, which caused her to be replaced by Kazehaya. (This earned several snickers from the first year classes).

They were constantly switching out players. Even (F/n) went on the bench, looking completely sapped. She actually looked ready to fall asleep, but she was back in the game during the next set.

And, just like that, after how many sets and the switching of injured or tired players, Seijoh won.

The moment the refs whistle was blown, the entire school was at their feet, cheering.

Later that evening, Tengan posted a picture on social media with the entire team lifting up a trophy and their medals, with the caption;

'Going home with gold!'

Sorry this chapter was so short and fast paced! ^^;
