Burdens

"Jackie..." he mumbled.

"I... What... are you doing here" each word stung.

"We need to talk" he pleaded her with his eyes"

"I'm not sure there's anything to talk about, I left to find peace and tranquility" she said coldly. "Please leave" she said backing away.

"Jacqueline, I did not come here to be kicked away" 

"Well, John why don't you just go to one of your whores. I'm sure they wont kick you away"

"ENOUGH" he shouted. She stood back in shock. 

"Leave" she said nervously.

"You are going to listen to me Jacqueline" he walked in and shut the door behind him. 

"I know, i know that all the woman that aren't you, are mistakes, I know that you are the one i want to spend the rest of my life with. Jacqueline, you do not understand how much it hurt me. The burdens i have carried around knowing i lost you and our child" he said breathing fast. All she could do was stand in awe and cry. 

"Please answer me" jack was on his knees

"Just... leave..." she struggled to say without a crack in her voice. Jack, on his knees was not ready to give up. 

"No" he said standing. "I'm going to stay here, I'm going to look after that baby and you. I'm not leaving" 

"Jack... please" she couldn't say any sadder.

"I lo-" Jack was interrupted by a knock on the door. Jackie felt some relief knowing it might be David and he will be able to comfort her. "Were you expecting anyone?" he asked her. 

"Its Dav-" he knocked again as Jackie was going to answer. She opened the door and smiled once she saw him. David noticed her eyes were puffy and red. He immediately dropped his smile into a frown.

"Jackie whats wrong?" he asked her. Jackie turned her eyes to Jack, as to try to tell David without speaking.  David looked at Jackie and entered. David looked at Jack and nothing but silence fell between them. 

"I'm David Mulder" he said reaching his hand out to break the silence. 

"John Kennedy" Jack replied. He looked over at Jackie as to ask her to explain what was going on, and who this man is. 

"Jack, David is my neighbor and we have been spending time with each other" she said nervously.

"I..." Jack went blank on what to respond. Jackie knew that she had to talk to Jack to finish this once and for all. 

"David, would you mind coming by later?" she said grabbing his hand. Jack, noticed the affection and grunted. 

"Are you sure?" David asked her worried. She rubbed his hand, looked at him and smiled. "Alright" he replied. David left and Jackie, stood there once again feeling alone. 

"Who the hell is that?" 

"None of your business, last time i checked" she snapped. Jack put his hand over his head and sighed. 

"Please do not tell me you are even some what romantically involved with that man?" 

"Even if i was, it would not matter to you. Jack you chose those women over me" 

"That does not mean you get to be a whore" he replied without thinking.  Jackie stood there hands clenched and face filling with blood. Nothing but pure shock hit her. 

"You of all people, do not get to call me that." 

"I make no apologies for how i chose to repair what you broke" she cried. Jack dumbfounded stood there and looked at her. The first time they kissed, when they announced their engagement. All he could think of, was how beautiful she looked.

"I love you, I do. I'm crazy about you. You will always be the man I fell for. The moon and the sun would be jealous. But Jack, you're no good for me. You are toxic to me and this child, I no longer see me being able to be happy with you. You will never end the affairs, because you believe a man like you does not belong to only one woman. I'm sorry, but I believe I am truly meant for someone other than you" 

(I am obsessed with the show " The X Files" David Duchovny Plays special agent Fox Mulder. i thought putting him in this would be a little exciting for me, although, Yes! i know he was definitely not old enough to be a lover of Jackie's.)
