Jack, as usual was talking to his father about politics. "Trenton Smith, the young man you met at Samuel Mulder's party, called and invited you to an embassy club he is a member of, he just wants to have a drink and talk over politics"

"Tonight?" Jack asked

"Yes, tonight" Joe looked at his son and gave him a look, a look that meant he had no option. Jack had to make all the friends he could, he had to have good connections.

"Jack" she said looking at him worried. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, I'm fine. Its just, I can't make it tonight"
Jackie set down her book and frowned.

"It's fine, What has taken your time?"

"Do you remember Trenton Smith?" He said untying his tie. "From Samuel Mulder's birthday party?" She looked up at him confused. Thought for a minute, and then smiled.

"Yes, he was very nice and handsome"

"He invited me out for a drink, and father  insists that I go, to have good connections." Jackie clicked her tongue, and shook her head.

"It's alright dear, we could plan for another evening" in her head she was jumping with excitement, the plan with Joe would work out just fine. Jack kissed her, and took a shower.

Jackie walked outside to where Ethel was sitting and looked at her with bright eyes. "Everything's set" she said.

"Really?" Ethel asked. They talked everything over and set for 8:00. Jackie and Joe would leave secretly and enjoy an evening together, to sort things out. After Jack kissed Jackie and Caroline, Jackie started to get dressed.

"Jackie" she heard someone say from behind the door.

"One minute" she said as she rushed the dress on.

"Its me Ethel" Ethel whispered. Ethel looked at Jackie and jokingly dropped her jaw. "You look so good, it should be a crime" she laughed. Jackie smiled and handed Ethel her necklace of pearls.

"Ethel, im scared" Jackie said sighing, fidgeting with her necklace.

"And why is that?" Ethel asked, looking down at Caroline in her crib. Jackie sat on her bed, and looked at the tie Jack threw onto the bed before disappearing off into the night. It made her feel slightly guilty, she would argue with him over other women, yet she was now doing the same... except with his brother. Ethel turned and saw the tie in her hands.

"Jackie... I know you feel you are being a hypocrite, because of the fights you would have with Jack about 'Others', but you have to realize he screwed you and him over, Joe was the man youve always wanted Jack to be. Just go and enjoy this evening and chance you both have together." Jackie still sat there, staring at the tie. She sighed and set it down, looked at Ethel and smiled.

"You're right" she said. She walked to the mirror and straightened her dress out and smoothed over her hair with her hands. As Ethel was picking up Caroline, a knock came at the door.

Jackie turned to Ethel, "That must be Joe." Ethel winked at Jackie.

"You ready?" Joe asked smirking at Jackie. She stood there amazed at how good he looked. He resembled Jack, and that made her a bit uncomfortable. While Jackie turned to grab her purse, Joe mouthed to Ethel, a "Thank you". She mouthed back "Anytime".

They rode off into the night, Jackie couldn't help but look over and glance at Joe. Whenever he would notice her looking he would smile. They sat at the stop sign, Joes left hand on the steering wheel, while the right was holding Jackies thigh. It started sliding up. Jackie felt a rush of emotions, soon after her cheeks turned rose red. Jackie laughed promiscuously, but that would fade as Frank Sinatra's "World We Knew" came on and she thought of Jack.

"What's wrong?" Joe asked. She looked out the window.

"Joe... What we're doing... it's wrong"

He kept driving and tried his best to not say something out of anger. "Jackie, it is wrong... but it feels so right" he removed his hand from her thigh and sighed. Concerned, she looked at him.

"We crave each other, everytime we see each other we desire to embrace, we try to resist kissing, even if it has to be secrete, i need this night with you, and you know you need it to"
