Chapter 16: Keeping Secrets

I couldn't believe who I saw...It was Brennan? Wait what's he doing here?! I decided to not say anything to anyone else and he saw me. He smiled and put a finger to his lips, meaning not to tell anyone. I nodded my head and waved as he began to leave. He mouthed the words "I'll text you about it later. Don't tell a soul" I nodded my head once again and continued eating my ice cream. I told mommy that I had to go to the bathroom, even though I didn't. I locked myself in a stall and messaged Brennan.

I turned my phone off and unlocked the stall, I quickly left the bathroom and went back to our booth. "Sorry, I took so long. Had to fix my hair!" They nodded "It's alright, we just finished up. Let's go get you to bed" my dad chuckled and we walked outside to the car and got in, buckling up. We drove back to the hotel and all went upstairs quickly, we had a big day ahead of us. I changed into my pyjamas and pulled the covers up over my chest. I actually had a hard time trying to fall asleep, I sighed to myself. I continued tossing and turning but nothing would help me fall asleep. I turned my phone on and saw the time 11:15pm. I groaned quietly, not wanting to wake anyone else up. I went on my phone and messaged Ryan even though he most likely won't reply.

I smiled and turned my phone off, by now it was almost 1:30am. I looked around the room as everyone slept peacefully. I laid my head onto the pillow and closed my eyes gently as I quickly drifted off to sleep.
